Who do I ask??

For FUCKS Sake, how much effort and red tape do I have to do through just to lodge my damn passport application!?  After all that effort yesterday, they wouldn’t accept my birth certificate because the one my mum sent me isn’t the original (fuck knows where THAT is after almost 28 years!), and ALSO my landlord filled out the section to be my guarantor, except the guy told me he couldn’t be it because he now LIVES with me.  FFS!

So I had to cross the city and go to the Registry of births, deaths and marriages, to get an authentic birth certificate, which mind you they ask you to fork out $37 for.  Christ, is the whole world money these days???  Will they charge an air tax soon?  I thought it was ironic that I’ve never been to that place, and yet I was in there two days after they legalised same-sex unions.  If only I had a hubby I could’ve killed too birds with one stone!

It’s just been another full-on morning,  I got my car towed, finally, to the repair place.  The tow-truck took forever to arrive and I sat in my car for over two hours waiting.  I did get a phone call from some guy apologizing for the delay, and I thanked him, and it was probably another half hour after that the truck arrived.  Because of where my car was sitting, he pretty much had to block the road temporarily, and when I asked if he needed help, he just told me to remain on the footpath.  And look pretty i assume 😛  He did all the work, got it on and I jumped in the passenger side of the truck.

i haven’t done that in many years.  I have done it many times though – been in the passenger side of an RACQ truck whilst they tow my car somewhere.  When we got to the mechanic, the guy had to pretty much move every single car that was already there just so the driver could back my car in there.  So much effort and time!  I was hoping to lodge my passport also that morning but I didn’t end up getting back until 11am, and I’d been sitting in my car since 7am!  I was tired already.  They took down my details and I explained to them that I’d changed the spark plugs and leads and that there was a fuel filter in the boot if they need it.  That was pretty much it.  I walked outta there and caught the bus back home.  I’m still dreading to hear what the quote is going to be!  I always do when it comes to mechanics.  They are known to be scrooges.  I’d like to think my slightly bigger stance and straight-actingness and knowing a little bit about cars is enough to thwart them off trying to overcharge me.  We’ll see.

After that, as tired as I was, I did the passport thing, which I mentioned above.  At least now I have a valid birth certificate.  The only thing I need to do now is find a guarantor who will verify the photo is me, and also either a) has an Australian passport, or b) is on the electoral roll.  They can’t be related to me, live with me, be in a relationship with me, and they have to have known me for at least 12 months and are an Aussie citizen.

I have NO idea who the hell to ask!! 🙁
