I Hope You Dance – Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they’re worth taking
Lovin’ might be a mistake
But it’s worth making
Don’t let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you’ll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

I’ve always loved songs with an encouraging meaning to them, and I’m in a real encouraging sorta mood.  Mind you it is 5:30am and I still haven’t gone to sleep yet.  I’ve actually had quite a learning night tonight.  I read a short booklet that I downloaded off the net on how to sleep better, and, quite ironically, here I am typing an entry on OD at this hour of the morning 🙂  I guess it worked, cos I haven’t gone to bed yet!

Actually I have gone to bed.  I just finished watching my DVD I bought today.  It was ‘Summer Storm’.  A few of you, probably mainly my gay readers, may have heard of it.  I’d been wanting to get it for quite a while now, and today I finally bought it.  I’m really glad I did, because in my opinion, it’s a fucking Brilliant movie.  I’m glad it won a Melbourne Queer Film Festival award, because that was brilliant.  And I’m even more happy that I bought it and not rented it, because I’m actually proud to own this one.  There’s not many I’m proud to own, but movies that hit my heart as much as this one did, really deserve recognition.  I own ‘The Forgotten’ also, which I absolutely love, simple for the beautiful message it portrays.

Summer Storm is a movie completely in German, so I had to read subtitles, but that was okay.  Years of watching the softcore porn on SBS growing up allows me to do so without losing grip on the plotline.  It’s like you don’t even realise you’re reading subtitles after a while.  The movie just really drew me in.  One guy in the movie I thought was especially cute, and he was one of the gay characters.  I got excited and I got nervous, and I was really getting into the movie emotionally, even pulling the blanket up over my chin, as a way of keeping me safe during the unpredictable parts.  I’m seriously listing it amongst my favourite movies, and I know I realise myself that I seem to say that all the time about a LOT of movies, I really don’t.  A lot of movies that are favourites with critics and movie-buffs, I don’t understand, and al ot of films my friends adore, I can’t stand.  Like I’ll rattle a few of my fav’s I can think of right now, and I’ll await the groans from the crowd as each one is listed 🙂

God I’ll keep going forever if I keep going on, but I think there’s a trend happening there.  If it has a sweetheart/love kinda storyline, I’ll probably like the movie, or if it’s gay related and sweet, I’ll love it, or in general comedy.  I’m not the biggest fan of horror or action movies, but I did enjoy the Scream movies and The Ring, as shit scared as I was.  But friggin Hostel *shudders*

Yeah, so now I’m wide awake, when I know I shouldn’t be because I sure as hell don’t wanna be TIRED at the Kylie Minogue concert tonight!!  She doesn’t start until 8pm, but still.  I found my old hand-written diary finally too!  Always in the last place you look 🙂  So I’l

l be posting a few of those crappy entries from 1998 probably all over the palce soon.

Go rent the movie out if you want, I loved it, you might not, but it seems to cover most aspects of a gay man’s life, especially around the coming out stage.

i love this pic. the movie is in colour though. the guy on the left is the one i thought was gorgeous. he just knows his fashion and has the height and personality i adore in a guy.few extra pics cos the guy on the left is cute as 😛 These two aren’t even the lovers in the movie!

awwww soooo cute!!!

Spose I should TRY getting some sleep, even though I’m still wide awake!

It’s sitting on my eBay watch list, IÂ’m debating if I want to buy it. I’m not much into love stories thou. DUDE! Cry Wolf is shit! HavenÂ’t seen Rent either, everyone keeps raving about it, but I don’t know, everyone raved about Brokeback Mountain and that was truly hideous! Pay it Forward is one of the few movies that made me cry, with that last scene where all those people turned up and there were candles and that music. Oh dear here I go. bye! xoxo
