Storm

Got to work just before the storm hit last night 🙂  I knew it was coming because I checked the BOM website.  Some idiot left an umbrella in the forecourt and cars were running over it.  I guess the umbrella just gave way.  I went out there and threw it out when the rain calmed down.  This is lame but oh well.

For some reason the store got really hot inside after the storm, which is weird because we didn’t lose power or anything.  It just kept getting hotter and hotter.  The air-con clearly had given way and I guess all the heat from the fridges turned the place into an oven.  I had sweat pouring off of me (and I don’t sweat much!) and pretty much every customer complained about how hot it was. 

I rang it in to the appropriate number, but a lot of good that was.  The bloke on the other end of the phone said it was an after-hours number and he’d leave a message.  Great.  That really helps me.  I was sure all the chocolates were gunna melt.  The guy after me arrived and noticed it.  I sent him a text a few hours before he was due to start telling him he might wanna bring a portable fan to work.

I was so glad to get outta there.  One night off tonight 🙂
