Shop til you drop
Yeah, I already wrote today, lamely, and I’m writing again, just cos I got back from the city. I originally went out to get a fitted sheet for my bed, as the fitted sheet I have has a big rip in it right where I lay when I go to sleep, and I usually find my foot getting caught in there – so today I went to fix the problem. Do you think I could find one in the same colour with the extra depth? Nope! I could find the extra depth, but different colours, or I could find the colour but not the extra depth. To cut a long story short, after comparing prices between Myer and David Jones and walking back between the two twice, I realised David Jones were offering extra-depth 1200-count sheets for around $200 LESS than what Myer were offering it for. Now, the most I ever heard of is 1000 thread count. I’ll cut a story short again and after making a complete mess of their display stand in DJ’s, I found two colours of the same extra-depth fitted sheets, flat sheets and european pillowcases. $530, I walked out lol.
It felt kinda of weird but cool, buying something I normally wouldn’t even think about, but I decided why the hell not?? I’ve done so many hours and shifts lately that it got to the point where I felt i should spoil myself, and as I bought the bed as a good investment, then so too should the sheets be! I’m currently typing this sitting on my bed on them. There is so much cotton that it’s almost like a satin-feel. I also chose the fudge colour over the white. White would have looked more elegant, but I figured the white would be dirtier easier also and I’d have to be anal about them every time I’d wash them. So yay!!
It was quite a difference from the haircut I also got. $12 from this new Asian salon in the city that’s only been open a few weeks. I walked in and the two Asian staff in there jumped up to greet me. They had no customers whatsoever and they ushered me into a seat lol. It wasn’t dodgy or anything really, not like that place in the valley that Vish took me too. This place the guy cut my hair with sharp scissors, and by the end, I looked in the mirror and was happy with his work as well! Stuff paying over $100 for a haircut. That went on my bedsheets instead it seems 🙂
I didn’t even walk back with the new underwear I’d been wanting to get, although I did look around and will admit I really didn’t like any of them! I swear the quality of underwear has gone way down. The only good ones were the Politix brand which never go on special and they were asking $40 each. Maybe – I’m thinking about it. I might just have to order some more from online again like I did last time.
I’m really tired now. It’s nearly 4pm Friday and I’ve been awake since 7pm Thursday. I think I shopped til I dropped.
That’s a lot of money on sheets. So! Way to go!

ryn – Tomic plays well but he is the most arrogant little toerag to ever hold a tennis racquet. He called his opponents game “weird and unco and I don’t like it” what is that?! Is he 7?! Federer will smash him and put him in his place. And if he somehow wins, I’m renouncing my claim as an Australian lest I be put in the same category as that entitled pr*ck. xxx

Honestly, good sheets are an investment in good sleep I think! My dad bought me 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets once, and I have never looked back!

Oh my. I’m a really bad gay man, I guess. There’s no way in HELL I’d spend that much on sheets, but I am not about to tell you how to spend your own money, either! 🙂 Of course, I’m really rough on sheets, because I’m a bad tosser-turner. As for hair…well, I’m not much to look at, to start with, so I’ll have it cut by a friend or do it myself. More power to you, though!
