Scandal!

Well well well!  Talk about a scandal!!

I missed a call on my phone last night that I let go to voicemail because a) it was a private number and I hate answering them and b)  I was trying to go to sleep.  When I checked it, it was Danielle from work saying, "Matt, I know you probably think this is a call for you to come in but I promise you it’s not.  THE most scandalous thing to happen at Caltex has happened!  You need to ring me back as soon as you can.  I wanted to be the first to tell you.  Love you honey!  Mwah!"

She’s such a ditzy blonde and is a laugh to work with!  Anyway, of course my curiosity got the better of me and I first tried to call her mobile (with no answer as usual) and I then rang the work phone, assuming she had to have been on.  Thank God she was and she answered.

She launched straight into the story and what had happened.

My intuition was right.  It was to do with Fat-Matt (remember the Capalaba manager whom I can’t stand?  The one who tried to get me fired a week into working with the company AND the one who cuts people’s hours for no legitimate reason whatsoever and the same manager who pisses everyone off and is trying to take over the whole company?) 

Yup.  Him.

Apparently he took three days worth of takings to the bank (something which all managers from each store do).

However, when he came back, he had no money or slip to say that it had been deposited. 

He LOST it!!!

So, to cut a long story short, three days takings, if we’re gunna base his store making as much as my store does, is probably around about $100,000. 

And get this.  We all know he had a gambling problem.  I can only assume in my mind that he’s gambled it, with the intention of paying it back and keeping the profits, and it’s backfired on him.  SUCKED IN FUCKER!

SO, Mr Fat-Matt-whom-we-can’t stand…. has been fired.

The owners are extremely upset and betrayed because they trusted him so so much.  He was always sucking up to them, and treating the staff, especially the female staff, like absolute shit.  He somehow managed to convince the owners to let him take over control of the rosters of all the stores, which he did successfully.  He would get up other managers if they changed around staff for their OWN STORE that he had already arranged (and his rosters were stupid anyway!)

I don’t know exactly what’s gunna happen to him or if the owners will press charges.  I hope they do.  That cunt deserves the book thrown at him!

So Dann is ecstatic, telling everyone as she’s a gossip queen haha.  She even asked my manager if she could tell me, as everyone knows I can’t stand him.  Anne can’t either.  This is amazing.  The mole has been destroyed.

In other news, I went to the 32 hour shopping at Chermside last night!  I JUST missed my friend Moe, but I did catch up with Matt, Vish and Rhys and also ran into hottie Rohan.  He actually recognised me and I went over and gave him a hug.  Of course Vish knew friggin everyone and was yelling out at people everywhere.  Matt seemed to disappear on me (RUDE!) throughout the night and never came back like he said he would 🙁  but I’m sure I’ll see him again.  I also thought Rhys has left, but got a phone call at 3:15am saying he was about to leave and had to go out the way where me and Vish were, so he met us at Starbucks.  He’s such a little cutie – bit of a party animal, always out clubbing.

I ended up buying some presents after Vish left.  I made him go home and said I’d be fine.  He was being a good friend and hanging out with me so that I wasn’t alone.  Because I can’t get home back to the farm for Christmas this year and am working tomorrow anyway, I’ve decided to buy my housemates presents and I also bought my work secret Santa present (I have to buy for a girl as I’m a boy.  I tried to use the gay excuse, but alas it didn’t work 🙂  So I just bought some cheap thing from K-Mart, which is a cosmopolitan drinking set.

My housemates I got the Martini drinking set a small water fountain for my landlord.  I bought all three, including two wraps and sticky tape for $48.  Saweet.  I also bought Vish a Christmas present because he’s been such a good friend to me this year, and everyone generally loves him.  He’s always been after Beyonce’s new frangrance, so that’s what I bought him haha.  He’s such a queen!  He’ll totally wear it too.

I know it’s all marketing and I hate that about Christmas, but my parents cancelled Christmas presents years ago on account of it being too expensive.  It was a good thought but only the nephews and neices get presents now because they still believe in Santa.  I was going to give them $100 each, like a crisp $100 note and spoil them.  It’s something I’d do.  I dunno if I still will as it seems silly giving it to them after Christmas but we’ll see.  I still have no idea about the car cost, but I’ve decided it’s no use worrying about it and I’m in a happy place, having just wrapped up the presents.  I’ve decided I suck at wrapping Christmas presents, so I do have that straight male quality in me still 😛

 

I took a picture of the crowd at about 6:30am this morning.  I shoulda gone up further where there were more people but meh, couldn’t be bothered.  I then realised I’d forgotten my Go Card here at home somewhere and had to go back inside to break my $50 on a scratchie (which I won $7 on btw lol) so I’d have smaller change to give the bus driver.  $5.30 for a single to the city!  Wow public transport for tourists especially is insane in this city.  I wasn’t too concerned as I spent $28 on a cab to get there.  Took me ages to flag one down though, and the driver was complaining it was a shit night.  Indian driver but meh he seemed pretty cool and decided to tell me a lot about Brisbane, as if I didn’t already know.  I let him yabber on anyway.  When he dropped me off at Chermside, a group of teens jumped in the cab, so by going there I gained him two fares 🙂
