Mardi Gras 2012 (Photos)
Since I’ve been gradually getting more video-obsessed with my phone, I seem to forget about pictures haha – so here’s the few I found that I actually took whilst on the trip! 🙂
Enjoy!
Gold Coast Airport tarmac – very exciting 😛 Bonus points for guessing which gate I took off from 🙂
G
Still at the airport. Remember I got there four hours early so it’s not like I had anything better to do than look bad in photos 🙂 This is me on no sleep! As usual!
Errrm, I don’t know where this one is, but my shirt has changed colour lol
The couple I stayed with in the hotel on the trip 🙂 One of the right has been a friend for many years, the left I’d only just met.
Proof I was there – this is at Mardigrasland btw. My shirt didn’t stay on much longer after that 😛
Some of the crowd outside the main pavillion. Times this about 50 times and that’s probably close to the amount of people there. Mostly all shirtless… buff….tanned….men…. oooohhhh my…
It was shortly after the above pic was taken that I walked home and that random guy tried picking me up but I brushed off (not my type :() and that I walked onto Oxford street and got king-hit by that random yobbo. It still plays over and over in my mind how easily a punch to the temple can kill someone, and that’s exactly what happened to me, yet I remember the initial pain of the contact and the shock at what had just happened, but I came away from it injury-free. Amazing. Part of me worries that maybe there was some damage I’m unaware of? I mean I’m already pretty dumb 😛
This was the following day! It has pissed down rain pretty much the entire trip, and then I woke up to this whilst my friends were all still asleep. This was as I left the hotel, and then I made that second video entry after this as i began my walk. I wasn’t gunna let some fuckhead keep my locked up in a hotel from being scared.
You might recognise this picture from in the video background. It’s fav’s only if you didn’t see it and want to – just ask me to add ya!
You can tell the difference between the back and the front camera on my phone haha
It was later on that I met up with my housemates at a lovely cafe called "Two good eggs". It was lovely, but they’d run out of so much stuff because they weren’t prepared for the Mardi-Gras rush of gays and lesbians overcrowding their little business 🙂
Housemate, myself and my landlord, with the Hyde Park background 🙂
At Taylor Square with the housemate. I thought it was an appropriate photo opportunity!
This is one the ex-housemate took on his phone. I decided I had to be a trashbag too and pose.
Haha, love this! How smexy is he?
The Monday morning of our day home. I took my friends to Cafe Extra, since I love it so much – I’m 24 hours – it’s 24 hours – we work well together!
Of course we had to get the token tourist photo of the Harbour Bridge, taken from inside the cafe. We were fascinated by the ship. Apparently people buy and live in apartments on that ship and it travels around the world :O
The gang feat. me.
I cropped in on my phone 🙂 Haha I just realised I can see the girl we were with taking the photo in the mirror in the background.
I had 6-day-growth going on by this stage! Haha – except for the seedy-mo, I quite like this pic 🙂 that’s my favourite cocktail. It’s non-alcoholic and so refreshing.
Hmmm, another angle photo, apparently.
Token tourist!
Trololol, fail-selfie!
I wanna get freaky with your housemate (not landlord). Please pass it along. Thanks Matty.

You and your friends look fun! I’d love to visit Australia someday.

You know what I think? I think you need to seriously have your own travel show. You’d be amazing at it. Either that or start a website with you and your ex-housemate having nonstop, rampant, filthy sex. I’d be subscriber #1 to tune in and watch that shit. Just sayin 🙂

I hate that I can’t see your pictures at work…and have to wait till I get home. 🙁 –

When Tobi is done with your housemate, I’m next. Glad you had a good time, minus the one nutbag.

I love the pics! What a cool idea about that boat. I wonder what the rent is for an apartment on there.
