Fuck this

For a Saturday night shift, it was good in the way that there weren’t any drunks.  I think everyone spent their money last weekend.  In fact, it was a really quiet Saturday, strange really.  However, I hated that shift.  HATED it.  The entire time I was paranoid, because five other servos within the area all got robbed within a 90 minute period the night before.  Luckily most people seem to think my servo is too busy for anything to happen at, but I was so cautious, locking the door even when customers were in the store, and keeping an  eye out for a 4-door white laser, which is the stolen vehicle these fuckheads are using to do their crimes.

At one point I freaked out because I was outside changing bins (a nightly thing I have to do as well as dips) and of course what pulls in?  A white Ford Laser.  And even more dodgily it PARKS near the exit.  My first thought was, ‘This is soooo a getaway car."  I couldn’t see inside because the windows were so tinted, but I knew to keep an eye out for four guys, two of them of Islander appearance.  There was even an article in the newpaper when it arrived about them saying that there has been a 20-person taskforce set up within the Police to try and catch these bastards.  They are armed with a Tyre Iron and have put two servo attendants in hospital.  Did..not..need..to…read…that.

So yeah when that vehicle pulled up I dropped everything and quickly rushed back inside, locking the door.  The car sat there for a while and then took off again.  I have no idea if it was them or co-incidence, but fuck taking any chances.

Fuck this.  I don’t deserve to feel scared in my own job.  My manager even rang me earlier in the night telling me to lock myself in her office if I needed to.  I already know the procedure.  Give them what they want pretty much.  These guys are ruthless and I’m amazed no-one’s caught them yet.  They wear hoods to cover their faces and are responsible for all the Gold Coast robberies last month.  Now they are terrorising Brisbane.  The cops were in this morning just getting fuel and i asked if anymore servos had been robbed, and the guy said there hadn’t, so that was a relief.

According to the paper, it’s a drug-fuelled operation.  Does not surprise me.  I just hope these cunts get a life sentence.  If they have a tyre iron, my weapon under the counter is a cro-bar.  I wonder which would win?  Only thing I worry about is if I pull out the cro-bar, if they have a gun hidden somewhere, I’m fucked.

GAH.  Too stressed to worry about this.  Couldn’t even do my fucking job properly.

And once again I find myself constantly asking the same question.

"What the FUCK is wrong with people!!!?"

That’s just straight up not cool at all, you shouldn’t have to live in fear at work. Hopefully the cops get these jackholes and they get the worst of their sentence while in prison; anymore people are just to far gone to save. Be safe out there.

I am worried for you sir! You are very smart, for being cautious. Hopefully they’ll get them.

I’m always scared that someone will come in to rob the vet clinic when I’m there alone. The doctor’s clinic around the corner got broken into a couple weeks ago. You sound pretty vigilant and prepared, so you’d be safe, but I reckon I’d freeze up if anyone tried anything and I’d probably get stabbed.

That was probably them they seen you go inside quickly and probably figured you already had locked the door so why bother.. The element of suprise had already been lost… Jeeze, your job can get dangerous.. Best not to fight them its not your stuff getting taken. Glad to hear your ok but shaken a bit

If they do come to rob you, give them what they want. No amount of money is worth getting hurt, or worse. It’s not your money, after all.

((((hugs)))) Stay safe hun…. I’d be pissing my pants too if I were in your shoes!!!! xxxx

eeks!! Becareful love!! I know I am so a Royal Wedding Junkie right now..

you should have taken the number plate and reported it to the police, just in case. Even if you didn’t know the number plate, call the police and report the activity. It might help them in their search. Sorry you had such a shitty shift *hug* 🙁 xxx
