I decided that I am going to see Varekai.  I wasn’t going to, but AsiminA went and said it was awesome so yeah, why not.  Plus I went and saw "Quidam’ when they were here a few years ago.  Except that time it cost me $220 for VIP tickets LOL – God I can’t beleive I paid that, but the guy I went with was that obsessed with them that he wouldn’t settle for anything less.  I remember watching ‘Quidam’ and thinking that the show was definitely worth the money, so because I remembered that thought, that’s what made me decided to go, that and the review I read from a fellow OD Favourite 😀  I only got a ‘B Reserve’ ticket this time though, as I figure that’s all I’m gunna need, and my seat looks okay.  Still cost me heaps but hey, gotta have fun right?  And they aren’t here for much longer.  I’m now really looking forward to it 😀  I’m going on Sunday, so I have to pick up my ticket from the box office in the city sometime soon as I’m pretty sure they won’t be open Sunday.

 My birthday – wasn’t too bad!  It sucked that Luke had to work, so I spent the day doing most of my Christmas shopping.  $340ish dollars later, I had most of it done hahaha.  GOD, thank goodness Xmas only comes once a year.  I went all out and bought all my family presents, because in previous years, my siblings and parents have gotten me presents, but I’ve never had enough money to buy everyone a present.  I bought a birthday and Christmas present for my little brother, a b’day present for my workmate, xmas presents for my brother and his wife, for my parents and for my nephew and neice on my brothers side of the family, and for luke and his housemate.  I’m kinda struggling with what to buy my sister, as she’s from a well-off family and they kind of have everything, if you know what I mean.  I want to get her something nice though, because, I really do love her.  Mum suggested movie tickets, but rang me later on in the day to see if I had bought them, cos she didn’t want to get her the same present as what I did – haha, so it seems I’m not the only one struggling with an idea, and I think she’s stealing the movie tickets one.  I’ll find something I’m sure.  Something…different I want to get her.

My little brother is going to love his present I got for him – well he’d BETTER!  It’s this really cute teddy bear that sings happy birthday, but it adds swearwords 😀  For his xmas present, I got him this doll, a female doll that says all this sexual stuff.  It’s quite hilarious but shes a very pretty doll.  I hope he likes them, and I hope he doesn’t decide to squeeze her hand in front of my nephews and neices hahaha.  He so will.

After I spent heaps of money on presents for other people, on my birtjhday (go figure lol), I went to the southside to meet up with my mate John.  He’d worked that day but had finished so I went round htere.  Well, actually, I got lost and went 7 exits too far along the Motorway, but realised my mistake and turned around lol – nice waste of fuel that was!  We piled into his workvan and went to the Loganholme Hyperdome, where he shouted me Sizzler for dinner.  It was really nice of him, and afterwards we watched the new TV they have installed in the Piazza there.  We were talking to the security guards and they said it was worth $1.5 Million.  It’s this massive LED television, and it seems to stay on channel 7.  They reckon they’ll play the big sporting events on it.  I know for sure that when the Australian Open starts, I’ll probably be down there watching it on that TV!  John and I are gunna bring our sleeping bags and stuff haha.  How cool would that be – lying on sleeping bags and pillows in the middle of a shopping complex 😀

After that I went to Lukey’s place, as I found out he was home from work.  He’d promised me we’d do something that night since he couldn’t during the day, and I sure as hell wasn’t missing out on it.  He took me to Pancakes in the city, where we met up with his housemate.  He shouted both of us.  I only had a mocha and I did order and OJ, but the waitress was that swamped that he wasn’t with it and forgot to order it.  So I only had a mocha.  I was full on Sizzler still anyway.  I heped Luke with eating Strawberry Patch Pancakes, and they were yummy.  Afterwards we went back to his place, and it was after midnight, so my birthday was over.  When I got home the next day I saw I had about 8 messages on MSN from friends wishing me happy birthday, so that was totally sweet. 🙂 🙂

It wasn’t overly exciting, but at least I did stuff, like I said I would.  Since then I’ve been wrapping my Christmas presents, but I got bored of that, so most of them are still sitting on my bed.  I wrapped Lukes so that he wouldn’t see it.  He’s going to love my present, but I won’t tell him what it is 😀  I’ve still got to buy presents for John for his b’day, and my sister and her son. hmmm.  I hate buying gift certificates or

vouchers, cos to me that just indicates you couldn’t be bothered buying a present, so here – go buy one yourself 🙂

Tuesday I had to do overtime and tonight I did about 2 more hours overtime.  Fucking Christmas – it might be like this for a while.  I’m pretty proud of what I got done tonight though, I just hope it pays off.  After work, getting out at 11:30pm, I went to 7-Eleven to buy phone credit but their machines were down, so I drove back to Night Owl, and got it immediately.  I found out with my normal charge amount, I’ve got 4 times the amount of credit so I’m like ‘SWEET’, cos I ran outta credit yesterday and haven’t been able to msg or call anyone, and you know a gay guy without his phone is just a no-no 🙂  So now it’s past 1am and I have to be in bed in like 2 hours, but it feels like I’ve barely been home.  Oh well, a bit of overtime pay on top of my minimum wage shouldn’t be too shabby haha – it might help pay back what I spent on the Varekai ticket 🙂  That’s how I figure it.

I got pissed off last night cos I felt like chocolate, and I went to get the big block out of the fridge that I knew was in there, and it wasn’t there.  I looked everywhere trying to think where it was, until I looked in the bin and saw the wrapper.  My housemate had eaten the entire block.  So I wasn’t happy and kinda made a noise and closed my door really hard, not caring if it woke him up.  He said to me this morning though that he ate it cos he had nothing else, and will replace it.  Friggin better.  Maybe he heard me complaining out loud last night.  I was sorta loud, but I was just annoyed that’s all.  Like even a note to say he’d taken it woulda been acceptable, but nope, nothing.  He also asked me again this morning if I liked living here.  I replied ‘yes’ and this time I actually felt like I meant it.  I mean things could be a lot better, and I had to ponder my responce after I left for work, but, yeah he hasn’t been too bad lately.  He asked me for money again this morning.  I only paid him $190 rent last Friday, so how the hell in 4 days he can have nothing is beyond me.  I replied that I didn’t have a cent.  the amount of times he’s asked me for money has been unreal, but he has always paid back every single cent everytime I’ve leant it.  He does keep his word at least.

I’m not sure what’s going on for Christmas this year, but I’ll be in Millmerran for my brother’s 21st on the 23rd, so I’ll probably stay out there.  I’ll go insane by the time the 25th rolls round but hey, how often do I see my family?  I made the mistake of getting chocolate as gifts last year, and of course, they didn’t make the trip there cos it all melted in the summer heat hahaha.  This time there is no chocolate as gifts!  John will be in Pitty over xmas as well and said to give him a call, as his family will be driving him insane also, so we’ll be able to hang out haha.  I reckon that’s what’ll happen too.  Normally I find myself out there for Christmas, and back in Brisbane on Boxing Day, purely because I get so fucking bored out there.  To think I lived out there for 18 and a half years.  I guess I just have different interests now that I’ve become a city-boy.

It’s my workmate’s 21st birthday this weekend, and I’ve got his present already.  I have to dress up formally for it.  Where the hell am I gunna find formal clothes? haha.  I’ve lost my invite in the mess of my room somewhere, so I had to ask where it was again at work today.  I’m just gunna wear half-decent clothes I think.  He said to make sure I’m hungry cos there’s gunna be a LOT of food.  Ooo that’s good, I like food 😀  And he’s Italian, so that pretty much guarantees there’s going to be a banquet.  It’ll be good to see my old manager again and Tash again and Dan’s girlfriend, as it’s been a while since I’ve seen them.  I got a message from Tash today wishing me a happy belated birthday, so I guess that means she’s over being mad at me for not showing up to her going-away party a few weekends ago 🙂  I think I have to take her to my workmate’s 21st, but I only just got credit to message her back so I’ll do it in the morning.  I don’t think she’d appreciate a message at 1:30am 🙂  Only I’m up at ridiculous hours like that.  I was talking to my best mate Sam last night and he was laughing when I said my sleeping hours are generally 3am-11am most nights except for Friday nights cos I finish late and start early.  His ex-boyfriend messaged me on msn too and asked when I was going to Perth.  That was weird cos he like never talks to me.  I had even deleted him off MSN cos I assumed he didnt wanna talk to me, and that was like months and months ago.  I had to re-add him to see his display picture, but I knew it was him from his email.  So Sam musta told him I’m going over there.  He was sayig I have to go and see his house, and was wondering where I’m going to be staying as Sam only has one bed, but offered the spare bedroom at his place if I wanted it.  Yeah, sweet offer, but I’m more of Sam’s friend than I am his ex’s.  Will see how i goes I guess.  I’m looking forward to it, and experiencing that flight to perth for the 2nd time.  I can’t believe when my mum rang me on my birthday that i forgot to tell her I’m going.  Always next time I guess!  Gotta get through the next three weeks and work and Christmas yet!

Sunday, November 29th, 1998

Tammy came over in the afternoon and we went to the rover for a swim.  I had a few goes on the swing and I had another go.  As soon as I hit the water, my left ear started hurting really badly.  Played Trivial Pursuit with Tammy when we came home.  She had to go home at 4:00pm to get ready for a B.B.Q at Millmerran.  I had to get ready too.  I went up with mum, and by this time my ear started hurting really bad, so she took me to the hospital.  the doctor told me I had an infected ear from the ear canal to the ear drum!  I can’t do synchronised swimming for at least a week! Yesss!!!  Went to church service + B.B.Q at Millmerran church.  Had a fantastic night with Christina, Tammy, Damien and Kier (the Japanese student staying at Damiens).

Oh wow, I remember that.  My ear was in so much pain, and it only happened when I hit the water.  Mind you we were swimming in the Condamine River, which i used to do quite often at Lemontree Weir, where someone had tied a rope to an above tree, so we used to swing out on it and drop into the water.  It was lots of fun!  Me and my little brother used to go up there all the time too.  There and Yarramalong Weir were our favourites.  We used to drive the old tilly up there even when we didn’t have our licences – never once got caught either.  Not that we hard

ly ever saw a cop.  Fun times they were.  Unreal to think I was 14 when I wrote this entry.  Here now I am at 23 🙂  To think this was around the time I had my girlfriend – pity my dary didn’t seem to keep going much into the following year.  Woulda been interesting.  At least when I turn 30 or so, I can read back and see what I was like through ages 19-23.  I think I was 19 when I started with OD.  Best thing I ever did.
