Awkward!!
Gah that pop-up ad when you log into OD is soooo annoying. I want my plus subsciption back 🙂 But nah I don’t wanna pay for it again 😛
I went to that staff conference yesterday. The boss from my usual store was drive and gave me a lift there and back. It took ages to get there! It was on the Brisbane river, which makes sense because thats where all the fuel will be stored! It was a really informative day! i took so many notes! The managers of all 4 sites got up and presented a few segments each – and yes, including the manager who yelled at me.
That was interesting. Ok, let’s change that to Awkward-as-all-fuck! When I first arrived there he actually said Hi to me, and I said Hi back, but that was pretty much the extent of our conversation. I spent the whole 5 hours or so there basically avoiding him like the plague. I’m sorry but when someone treats me like shit, my usual reaction is to treat them the same way – in my mind anyway. How it appears on the outside is usually a much nicer action.
So whenever he got up to present I pretended to be interested, wheras inside I was just like ‘Die motherfucker’ lol. Nah, he was alright. No-one even brought it up, although I was sure everyone including the owners knew what had happened. He’d made sure of telling me on the phone he was gunna talk to them about it. I don’t care. My boss was cool. She said she actually likes to give people a fair go.
It was funny cos when we first started the meeting, everyone had to get up and say their name, which site they were from and how long they’d worked for the company. When it was my name, I said ‘Hi, my name’s Matt, I’m from ***** and I’ve been with the company for 3 or 4 weeks. I deliberately emphasised the site I was from, and completely left out the site that the manager who yelled at me was from. Haha. I felt good about that. It’s not like I would’ve felt comfortable saying I was from that site as well considering he’d said clear as day he doesn’t want me working there anymore. Hopefully I made him feel bad. I don’t know, but it’d be cool if I did.
It was a pretty good session. We got free food treats and drink. I avoided that other manager all afternoon. Why should I acknowledge him? It’s not like I could avoid him. I met the other owner too and he seemed pretty cool, although who knows.
my manager dropped me off in the valley and I walked home, because it was peak hour traffic I wasn’t gunna make her drive all the way into the city. I confirmed with her I wasn’t working that night but tomorrow night, and she said yes.
It’s now the following day and I have to work tonight. I’m looking forward to it. A mate of mine sent me a birthday invitation to a green party, so that sounds cool, but he gave it to me with 1 days RSVP notice. I told him I dunno because I might have to work, but I’ll say yes for the moment. That’s th thing with my job, I start at 10pm so I can usually attend the start of a party, but just have to leave early. I think that’s actually a good thing because I usually get bored after a while, especially if I don’t know anyone. It’ll be so good to see some of my old workmates though. I have another party to attend this Saturday night, which I will have to leave early because of work, and that sucks cos I love this chick to bits, but oh well. It looks like tomorrow I will be shopping for birthday pressies!
Other than that, I haven’t seen my housemate all week. I presume he spent the whole week in Sydney, but I think I heard the door open before so he’s either home or we’re being burgled 🙂
I just looked at the floor of my room – wow, disgusting. No wonder I’m sick haha.
I spent the whole meeting yesterday coughing, so that was fun. Not like I could help it. I’m sure I’ll be doing the same at work tonight. I’m half way through my first lot of antibiotics, so should probably get the repeat tomorrow because I’ll run out when they are closed over the weekend.
Shit this is a boring entry. i can’t wait til I get better so I can start doing some fun stuff again. And it’s getting so warm! bring on the waterparks! I’ve been thinking of ideas for my birthday, and I always love going to Wet N Wild, but so many of my mates are self conscious about their bodies and won’t attend. Gee I am too, I get over it! So maybe I should be a little more considerate and organise something a bit different but still fun. I hate making people spend money though, but then again most of my mates who invite me to things make me spend money on food at a restaurant plus the money for a present, so yeah, am I really making that big of a deal about it?
It’ll be interesting to see what my roster’s look like from now on, with this turn of events. My manager said I’d still be getting the amount of hours I want, so that’s nice of her. I love it because I usually work a 4 day week, but if I work on a weekend day, it basically equates to full time anyway cos it’s nearly double pay. Love it. I wonder how many drunks I’ll get tonight and this weekend 🙂
I have to ring Jess and apologise to her for leaving her stranded at that other store on Monday. Poor girl. She’s like one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever met. I kinda want to meet her boyfriend just to see if she’s doing the cliche’ thing beautiful chicks seem to do, by dating an ugly douchebag. Seriously, most of my straight guy friends will admit to that – they can’t understand why a hot chick dates a fugly guy. He must either have a huge cock or a wad of cash really. Haha, how superficial am I? 🙂
My photoshoot pics should be ready soon hopefully. I can’t wait to see them, and surprise my mum with the framed one 🙂
Weekend’s nearly here people – start getting excited! 🙂

Blokes punching above their weight class… it is a phenomenon. I don’t know how it happens… but it certainly does happen.
