Snowmageddon 2: The Snowpocalypse Returns

 Umm yeah, this morning has been revealing.

Went to bed with bare ground.

This morning we had a good 6" of snow.  They are now calling for up to 14" by tomorrow morning.

I took the snow tires off a couple weeks ago.  Figured they’re in good shape, I could make it through whatever snow comes back.

Well…  I did.  But…  Just barely.

To those of you who drive in snow and don’t like it, you really ought to invest in some real snow tires for your car.  These all season things are just plain dangerous.  I guess if you live in town and don’t need to deal with hills and the roads are kept pretty clear they would only be moderately dangerous…

But for me?  Well, I did make it through the unplowed driveway and the next few miles of unplowed roads.  Then came to an even more fun hill which thankfully had been plowed.  But, nope.  Made it about 80% up, but it was not going to make it any further.  FAIL!  Luckily I was able to turn around so I didn’t have to drive down backwards.

Made it the rest of the way, but sheesh, those curves and everything are awfully slippery on all season tires.  Prius was helping me out a lot with keeping things in line and I was having to resort to staying in paths other people had made and plowed sides of roads.

I have to do none of that with my Blizzaks.  Yeah, I know they cost a bit.  But guess what?  They cost about as much as your insurance deductible.  Frankly I’m kinda surprised there’s not more accidents knowing that most everyone else drives like this most of the winter…

Really not sure about tomorrow.  The plow is also not on the 4-wheeler anymore(that was due to the fact that I got it stuck a few weeks ago).  Really don’t want to put it on for one more day…  But if we get anything much more, there’s no way I’m going to make it through the driveway in the Prius since the snow will be higher than it’s bumper.  And it looks like the closest thing to "warm" coming at the moment is maybe Monday at 36F…
