Ride
Yeah, that’s what we do.
I ride the bike up and down the hill.
Gah, at the moment I’m listening to the co-worker who doesn’t seem to be that bad but for some reason grates on me to no end. She’s telling me usual nonsense which is usually half negative like right now how they only have the one car that’s been sitting in the shop for more than a day with likely a simple brake line problem but her husband didn’t call and she didn’t call and… Well who knows. Maybe that’s what bugs me. Seems like simple solutions to her big problems.
Yesterday or maybe it was the day before I heard even stupider conversations. Like she’s saying how she walked in after dropping her car off(she makes it sounds like it’s quite a distance) and the girls are all like "Why didn’t you call us?!" Like it’s so difficult to walk. Then at some point she says it’s a couple miles away. But it only took her like 15-20 minutes… Then at some point she actually says where she went. O.M.G. I walk past their when I take my 3 mile walk during my lunch hour. It’s just a few blocks over. MAYBE 15 minutes and definitely less than a mile. Like W.T.F. Is that really a big deal? I mean I know everyone around here(and everywhere I guess) seems to have this need to get in the truck or suv and drive 2 or 3 blocks to work every day but I just don’t understand it.
For me? Yeah 14 miles is a bit much from home. Though I have and would do it going TO work. The return trip would take quite a while though and the uphill would really suck.
So I go from my parents house which is 7.5-8 miles each way and a 600′ height to climb on the way back. It definitely takes longer on the way back, but doable.
Anyway.
I’ve driven the bug and ridden the bike all week(my go to work week starts on Tuesday). Crazy that it hasn’t rained yet. Maybe tomorrow. On Tuesday along with the bike I also went back to trying to lose weight. So I’ve been eating around 1500 calories and if the trip to town is anywhere near the 500 calories Cardiotrainer says then I would think the return must be like 1500 calories. And then I burn about another 100 cals at lunch for a 20min walk. I think that should be somewhere around… Well, hopefully over a 2500calorie deficit. So I should lose a pound around every other day. Given the Re-start at actually trying my body is in the "woah" phase and I lost 4lbs as of yesterday but nothing more today. I really need to keep this up.
Yesterday’s 84F day was still hot but WAY better than the 95F day before.
I also ordered a pair of the Vibram five finger shoes. You know, the ones that are actually shaped like your feet with actual toes?
I put a link on there if you want to check out the website. The idea being that these are about as close to going barefoot as you can get and that is supposed to be better for strengthening your feet and in particular my very flat feet. We shall see. And we shall see if I can manage to wear them in public. I DID go for the plain black ones as opposed to some of their other much more stand-outish ones.
I’m contemplating the drive-in tonight. That would be X-men and Hangover 2. Both movies I would like to see. It just always remains to be seen if I can stay awake! We could take the Baja and set a blanket in the back too… Not sure if that would be more comfortable or not… But it sounds interesting…
I need to clip my nails.
New girl starting at work.
C-ya!

You are really fashion forward! I see those shoes every day here. Daniel tried them on and said that they were quite comfy. I didn’t know about them helping flat feet. Daniel’s have been bothering him something fierce lately.

I can’t wait to find out how the shoes work for you!

I’ve heard those shoes are very comfortable. If you don’t mind stuff up between your toes. Let us know what you think! 🙂
