Move Along Home

"First contact is not what it used to be." – Sisko

We saw the cheesy classic "Clash of the Titans" in the Station Cinema yesterday.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, the idea of being a captive competitor in somebody’s game.  It’s a kind of ongoing theme – the frustration of realising I don’t have control over my life, what happens to me, around me. I hate that. I’ve got a definite control-freak tendency.

I actually started my day by chanting the Jia Kaja this morning (the Bajoran prayer for protection)

Jia’kaja, tre’nu’tol’a rem… La’por i’lanu kos… I’nar tan’a’tali nor….

and it turned out to be a particularly crap day.  It makes me think that indulging in any kind of religiousness just invites trouble… but then who knows how bad it would have been if I hadn’t prayed.
