The Strength In Us

It’s the strength in us that
Trips us up sometimes, more
Than the weakness. There’s
A poetry to that, more pure
Than anything I can hope to
Put together, stringing words
Like beads. A truer measure
Of strength is getting up,
And deciding whether what we
Were before is what we want
To be today, and changing it
If it no longer satisfies.
