When Angels Cry – Chapter 3

THE ONE WHO WAS ALIKE

Nick followed the big creature and the girl through the streets of Timeheart. His path was clear since the two were shoving people aside. The rain although, was making running difficult. He had to place his footsteps carefully. He followed them to an alley, where the creature had the girl cornered. He came up silently behind the two, as it spoke in a gruff and angry voice. " You’re gonna wish you hadn’t messed with the Corp. " And that’s when Nick decided to step in. " Well you’re going to wish you didn’t chase young girls down a street in the middle of the evening. " He said camly, but putting his guard up. The creature flinched, and turned. Nick could see clearly now his opponent. A large, half wolf, half human well..thing! It bent down close to Nick, and snarled its jagged teeth. " Oh yeah, tough guy? And what makes you think that? " It said, raising a huge, hairy fist. " This." Nick said, and spin kicked him right in the jaw, by bouncing off the wall, and kicking. It got knocked back a few steps, and rubbed its chin. " Kid..you just made the biggest, and last mistake of your life.. " The creature snarled, and clenched its fists, and bared its teeth. Suddenly, Nick didn’t feel so heroic.
