Pieces

I’m leaving these pieces, in a box for you to find.

They’ll be the last of my winnings, all that I’ve enshrined.

There’ll be a lock on it..you’ll know what to do.

Just think of an ironclad bond, forged anew.

When your wings took flight, I couldn’t stay on for the ride.

But I know you’ll take good care of these shattered beings that couldn’t survive the tide.

When the final bells ring, there’ll be nothing left but dust for me…

As for you…you’ll have everything you could ever want to aspire to be

They say it takes an army to be brave.

But you….you’ve already sent a kingdom to it’s grave.
