In The Time of Angels

Sometimes I think light is about it’s literal meaning. Bright, illuminating, and just..generally there. Most people always expect it to be there. The sun, a street lamp, a night light even..Heck, most people go right by without even noticing. It’s easy to take it for granted. Though I guess the same concepts apply to the metaphorical and psychological senses as well. We strive for the light because we’re afraid of the dark. Or, maybe just of what lurks inside of it.

There’s some scary stuff out there. Robbers, kidnappers..whatever it might be, we look for ways to avoid it. Both in our realities and our minds. I’m just one person and can’t speak for everyone, but speaking from my own experiences, I think that while it’s a generally smart idea to stay in the light and associate yourself with the good and the righteous and gentle, it is sometimes required to pull back the shadowed curtain of darkness and poke your head in to truly gain the most knowledge about a situation. The pursuit of wisdom isn’t an easy one, but it’s worth it.

Everyone’s been through their fair share of experiences with both light, and dark. It’s a natural part of life. It’s how we learn and grow. Some people have been through worse situations than others though…They get lost in that dark realm and sometimes can’t find their way out for a long time. Sometimes, not ever. And while their downfalls are tragic and sad, it’s not really about the past. It’s about the future. Those who were taken by the darkness will always be remembered. Their spirits live on for eternity, and they will always be loved. No matter who they were, or what type of person they were, or what life they lived. The point is that they existed. They mattered. And in my opinion? That’s what makes them shine the brightest.

I know this silly little blog in an empty corner of the Internet is called "Endless Darkness". I know it’s got depressing poems, and a dark background. I know it doesn’t get a lot of traffic at all, and I really don’t know how many people will read this, but that’s the whole point of the theme and feel of this diary, friends. It seems dark and lonely, but in reality, there’s always a way out. There’s always some sliver of light to guide me back to where I belong, and I know that there is for you too. If we don’t give up..If we keep on hoping. If we keep searching for that door out of that dark room, then, everything will turn out alright. No matter what it might be.

People have bad situations. Sometimes really bad. But there’s always hope. There’s always light. Light can never be extinguished, so all you have to do..is let it in, and it’ll guide you back to a much happier future.

Thanks for reading.
