Moving Forward
I am going to jump out on a limb here and say I just got a $300 a check raise, that is $600 extra dollars a month. I say I am jumping out on a limb saying that because it is going to depend on whether I get a promotion or not. I will know on Thursday for sure; however… I already know I am going to move into that position. Also, it could be more than $300 a check, but will NOT be less. All that being said, I am super excited. I love working here.
The maturity level of the people at this Cabela’s is different/better. The way people act, talk, and work around others is exceptional. The teamwork within this store is 100%. I just cannot express the greatness of this store, and how excited everyone is to be working here. There are older retired guys that could be moving up in positions, but they say they have had their time to shine and want to allow the younger guys a time to grow and shine. I think this is amazing that they are willing to give up their spots, but also at the same time willing to train those that don’t understand things so they can move into those spots.
The management staff where I work is amazing. They genuinely care about others. They do not hesitate to help outfitters in other departments, they don’t get upset or look down on others. We all see the store working as a team, and if we help each other as though we are a team the store will run as a team.
On the same note, the field support team (people from other stores who are already trained), are so much better than either of the other stores I worked for. They are kind, supportive, and act as though they are one of us, not better than us, etc. So, let me just say I LOVE where I work.
I have made a decision to not renew my lease in this condo when my year was up. If I knew how to break my lease without any penalties I would not stay now. I live in a very nice Condo, but I don’t like the neighbors on one side, and I don’t like the whole "no air conditioner" I also would like to have a basement for laundry or my children, and a yard for my dog to run around in.
I know what I am looking for and where I want to live now so it will be much easier to find a house. I have a year to save up a deposit. I am also working on improving my credit, which has been destroyed by medical. I think a year is a good time frame. My son will be a little older, Whitney will have graduated from the best high school around here, and by that time we will be a little more settled to Denver.
Mom and dad are going to California in the next couple of weeks. Mom told me today that her and my father would most likely be stopping by Denver to see us for a day. I am soooo excited. I am going to try to hang all our photos and everything tomorrow, so when they come they will be hung. I will take them and show them where I work, and they will get to see our house and spend time with the kids.
My daughter Vanessa started college yesterday. She is taking two summer history classes. She hates history so thought it would be good to get them over with. Um, nope! She hates it, lol. Actually she just says it is boring, says her teacher for one class is funny, but smokes and curses to much, and he keeps the room at 62 degrees. LOL.
Well… I haven’t wrote much, but wanted to make note of everything going on and what my thoughts are.
