Good news – Bad news

Bad news: The union voted down a shortened work week for all that may have stopped layoffs. 40 union workers have been layed off. That leaves 52 in the plant. And we have so much inventory in the warehouse, there could be more layoffs in a couple months.
Bad news: Sales are down industry wide 35%.
Good news: Our company sales are down only 12%, so we’re doing better than the majority of our industry.
Good news (for us anyways): One of our biggest competitors filed bankruptcy and closed its doors. Huge potential in sales for us.
Good news: You weren’t one of the 40!

Ugh AND yay! Why would they NOT vote for a shortened work week to keep their jobs??? Yes it’s less money, but it’s a JOB!!! I so feel for all of those people who rely on thier jobs for healthcare. Oh Kepsake, I’ll be praying for you all.
