Big D update

D’Artagnan came home with me from the vet. The X-Rays showed no hard tumors. The ultrasound showed mostly healthy organs and a thickening of the bowel. With his calcium numbers, it could be the beginning of gastro-lymphatic cancer. It could also be pancreatitis or feline IBS. But he’s not showing any symptoms of the latter two. Nathan and I decided to not do anything invasive so I refused the biopsy. We’re going with an antibiotic course in the hopes that it’s pancreatitis. If no improvement (or worsening), then we have our answer. So, I’m going to enjoy the next weeks with him and hope for the best.

The ‘what’ isn’t nearly as important as knowing that the time is limited and to make the best of them.

So far, so good. Fingers crossed. Thanks for letting us know!

Sounds like a plan… I think that sometimes the treatment causes more harm to older pets than the cure…

ryn: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GOOD LUCK!!!! Don’t you feel legit as all GET-OUT?????

It is massively hard when something is wrong with your pet.
