They really like me

I know that I have been doing this type of job for  like 100 years, and knowing that most often there’s not a lot of accolades for the ‘admin staff’, I do it because I genuinely love helping people

My SVP of Product Development started this Leadership Program, made up of 12 nominated people of different groups. We had a really awesome facilitator that curated these meetings or “Moments” every month, from April to December. My overthinking exec then tasked me to find locations, and catering and provide all the logistics for these monthly moments

It’s been a full time job on top of supporting 3 execs and being the office manager to an office of 300

While I don’t thrive on ‘atta girls’, it’s really nice to hear them once in a while. These participants have been just so thankful that I have taken care of them so well over the past year. Considering that I was brand new with this company when we started this, says a lot about how competent I really am at this office management/exec assisting gig.

Still tough not to feel like I have “Imposter Syndrome” sometimes but still, it’s nice to get that pat on the back

Now, tonight is the holiday party. No real big deal, just copied it from last year because they wanted to go back, but I made some changes based on people’s complaints.  Fingers crossed it all goes well and I am not curled up in a coughing spasm later tonight

Good for you!  I’m sure you do a great job. You’re so lucky though, some of us *coughcough* bend over backward for our team and the team doesn’t give a rat’s ‘hind :

@thenerve Then it’s time you build a culture of feedback!  Letting people know what you need helps them to help you. Most people are horrible at both giving and receiving, it’s definitely an art form!

@kattster – Sadly for me, that’s an optimistic expectation on a bunch of people who don’t actually care but for the “fresh out of college” types.  In other words, been there, done that, and it only made them complain to HR about my “insubordination” HA!

Way to go…a job well done….and now maybe it’s time to get that pay raise?  100% more?
