Special needs

Now this isn’t to be mean to people that actually need protective devices to function…not in the slightest…just wanted to get that out there first

Yesterday I spent most of the day at home nursing a migraine hangover, and if you’ve ever had one, you know of what I speak

Plus I had wicked bad cramps that kept me up all night, so I just decided to stay home.  And I hate staying home because I want to bank as many PTO hours as I can so when I leave I get this big check

I have derby practice tonight, last night I went out to the car to get my helmet and mouth guard, and my socks, just to get it all ready for tonights practice

I am fascinated by those mouth guards

Soak it in hot water, jam it on your upper teeth, run it under cold water and its a personalized mouth guard!

I then got the helmet out of the box, took off the stickers and packaging and attached the mouth guard to the strap

I tried it all on for fit and adjusted the straps accordingly

Is it a sign of comfort when you sit on the couch in your pajamas and wear a skateboarding helmet and watch the ball game?

I kid you not, I totally forgot I was wearing it!

After I was done spacing out, I realized that I was wearing it and even 24 hours later, I am still chortling with laughter

What the people walking by my house, casually looking in, must have thought when they saw this amazon of a woman, wearing a silver helmet, mouth guard swinging back and forth and she jumps up and yells BALLS at the tv because her team wasn’t doing so hot

The thought of that kept me from quitting today, as it has gotten that bad here

I am just sitting here shaking my head with a smile…what a dork
