Car update – final chapter

My car is so pretty

I drove really early on Friday to Paso, to drop off my stuff, and Sugar, and to do the rental car drop off/drive to Kia dance

All told, it took about an hour, as they went over the paperwork and everything

My out-of-pocket was just over $760, which was for the belts and hoses, plus a new battery since my original one was dead dead dead

As I drove off, I noticed it was running as smoothly as my other engine was, but I figured it needed to take a second to get worn in

I drove to Big Bubba’s Bad BBQ, and ordered lunch for the entire shop. I felt like this was the best way to thank everyone who touched  my car, service and sales alike.  It’s been there a month, and they’ve been just so great with me, especially Nick

I drove back to Kia, and told Nick I had lunch in my trunk.  He was blown away, and called the GM and other bosses to the service department. He drove my car into the bay and they unloaded it.  I mentioned how it was running and he talked with the tech (who by the way, top 5 mechanics in the country for Kia) and he noticed the shimmy and the roughness, and checked it 3 times, everything is where it’s supposed to be.  Just need to break it in, give or take 500 miles or so.  Since it’s 170 home, I’ll take it easy and keep it from getting damaged

So my time with Kia and talking with Nick are over. I am sure if I am in town, and need work, I will take it there.

Now the real fun begins, as Jiffy Lube still denies any wrong doing.  Since this weekend, I have been tweeting about them, and they responded but they continue to want the case closed.  I will continue until I can figure out how to sue them (take them to small claims). It’s a process since the franchisee is in a different county than me, so we’ll see how that goes.

It’s nice to have this car back, I won’t take having one for granted again
