Yuk!
I got a toffee cookie (Otis Spunkmeyer) to eat with lunch and instead of just eating enough to satisfy myself, I ate the entire thing. Too sweet and now I don’t feel so good. Blergh! I hope that feeling passes quickly.
This week has gone by pretty danged fast. I like it, although I’m coming down with Mike’s cold now. He has had it for about a week now and I am generally really careful about not letting him touch me or kiss me when he’s sick. I broke my own rules and allowed him and now I’m going to pay for it. LOL Back to the rules again next time! This better stay just a cold too, no more of that bronchitis crap I had earlier this winter. I am catching myself being really nervous about it. I am taking cold meds and not feeling horrible so hopefully it’ll behave.
I have to go back to the doctor soon and get refills on all of my prescriptions. Tell me what you would do. My doc and my records are still in the town we moved to and we’ve not found a new doctor over here. Mike said he’s fine with driving back to the other town to take me to the doc if I want, but that seems like a pain in the tukkus too. I’m thinking of going back to him one more time and then looking here for a new one. Mike is going to go ahead and find a doc here in town, he didn’t have one in the other town. We have a friend that is a doctor who moved over here this past summer as well. Mike thinks he wants to go to him. I don’t want to because we KNOW him….ya’ know? I’d rather my doc be more or less a stranger. I’m paranoid like that, I suppose. But, I’m glad Mike wants to go to that guy. We have a program here at work that he is going to do. It will save us 600.00 on next years insurance and all he has to do is get a blood test. Then he’ll take those numbers and make an appt. to go get the things that are wrong fixed. I know he’ll have to go on blood pressure meds, and he’s going to have to start eating better, his cholesterol is not good, we already knew that. I’m happy that mine has never been a problem. I have enough other stuff to battle without having to worry about that too.
I am still trying to decide what to do with my Lasik money. I think I’ll go get my hair cut and highlighted again, maybe a manicure. I do want some new shoes, maybe another pair of boots, but I don’t need clothes. I need to get rid of clothes, not buy more. I let Mike know I might want to buy a new purse. He said I had enough to buy a "real" purse, a designer one. I thought about it, but I’d get tired of that just as fast as I get tired of my $10.00 Wal-Mart ones. I told my mother to take out $100.00 from our checking account today. I want her to go buy my great niece either a walker with a bunch of toys on it or an exersaucer and also to buy her a Bumbo. If there is anything left over, she can get diapers or other toys or whatever.
Still have an hour of my afternoon left, sure wish it was done. It’s been relatively slow today, but we’ve had a good time. I like Fridays around here….everybody is relaxed and laughs a lot.
Oh, one good thing came out of my Tuesday pre-screen. After I got the bad news, Mike and I decided to stay in Tulsa to eat supper. We found Joe’s Crab Shack and decided that it was a good day to try it out. Oh holy cow, that was really good and we will definitely be going back. I had crab legs and scallops in a steam pot….Mike had crab legs, mussels, and lobster claws. YUM!! We got there early enough that it wasn’t even crowded and the service was amazing.
Ok, guess i better get back to work. Have a great weekend and take care of yourselves!
If you can find another doctor in your new town, that’s what I’d do. Time and gas are valuable. Good luck.

I have a hard time with the concept of a $100 purse that contains $50. I’d rather have the money and a cheap purse. There is a new bag that’s all the rage here where you buy a purse body, then you can buy different covers to mix and match with outfits and such. You can even switch out the handles if you want. http://www.michebag.com

I LOVE Joe’s! Our nearest one is in Boise or Salt Lake.

$10 K Mart purse for me. Mmmm, Joe’s Crab Shack sounds good. I drooled over their menu. You don’t have to spend the whole thousand right away. You could wait and plan or dream about it.

I spent $60 on my last purse but made sure it was real leather as I use one purse for 5-6 years so I want it to be tough enough to last that long. I am getting tired of it though but it’s still in good shape so I won’t let myself buy a new one! Have fun deciding what to spend your money on.

We enjoy Joe’s from time to time. Not particularly often as my brother can’t stand seafood but we have fun when we go 😀

A purse is a purse is a purse… I get all mine from the discount store – that way it’s a bit better quality than Kmart, but it doesn’t cost any more. Even so, I look at the $50 purses (retail $150) and cringe. NOTHING is worth that much money if all you’re going to do is sling it over your arm and leave it lying around on countertops! (huggles)

Hi. I got my old diary back…at least the DIARY NAME. Christy Price here. Can I please add your diary to my new(kinda) diary?

I think I’d ask the doctor to suggest someone closer:)

I am with Grammy’s Heart on asking your Dr to suggest or refer you to one in the new place. I’m so cheap I make my own purses. Problem is they haven’t ever been leather yet, as I haven’t come across much leather in a fabric store, but think it’s only because I don’t think to look for leather when in a fabric store. Take care and God Bless

I’d find a doctor in your town after you get your scripts filled and have time to look.

Joe’s sounds like a great place to eat! 🙂

Some treats are just too hard to stop eating. : )

Yeah, it can be touchy if your doc is actually a friend. I grew up in a small town and our doc was our next door neighbour! Not much you can do in a small town.

I am way behind in your diary, so I didn’t know that you’d moved. Finding a new doctor is tough; I suspect that I would choose to take the long drive to see my old doc over finding a new one, although referrals from friends, relatives or your current doc, as some of your noters have suggested, is a good idea. Best of luck. RYN: Thank you so much for your kind words and especially for the offer of having someone to talk to about diabetes. Right now, it really is overwhelming and most of the folks talking to and at me are professionals. It’s good to know that I have people I can ask questions of and can talk to, who are in similar circumstances as I am as well. I’ve made note of your e-mail addie. Thank you again. 🙂

ryn:I’ve been on a waiting list for an apartment for almost two years now. Because I really wanted to live there I didn’t apply at the only other apartment complex that I could afford (I’m disabled). But I just recently applied at that second complex PLUS I found another apartment complex that I would be able to afford. (cont on next note)

(cont from last note) my problem is that the only apartments that I would be able to afford (I only get 680/ a month)have long waiting lists. VERY aggravating!!!!

My purses seem to wear out too fast for me to spend too much money on one, though I admit I’ve been tempted to splurge on one of the leather ones at TSC. 😉 I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice on the doctor situation. I was going to a doctor several miles from here and was quite happy with her, but, once she left, I switched to a nearby clinic, and I’m happy there, too. If you do decideto find a doctor closer to home, I’d definitely ask your current doctor for a recommendation, though.
