Two more days

I have a five day weekend coming up and I’m just thrilled!!  We are going to Mom’s on Sunday and will come back home on Tuesday.  Mike mentioned going down on Saturday, but he’s also getting his car delivered then, so I don’t think that will happen.  I can see him playing with it all the rest of the day and making trips to auto parts stores and finding a good salvage yard.  🙂  And that’s fine, it’s good to see him so excited about something like that.

We went to Kmart after I got off work yesterday to get a few things we needed, and of course, ended up with lots of stuff we wanted.  I got three new pairs of work pants for less than $10.00 each, I was really happy about that.  We bought my great niece lots of clothes and a new toy as well.  They also had entire comforter sets, sheets included on sale for $30.00 each and so we got one in King sized for us and another one for my Mom.  Mom doesn’t know about hers yet, she’s going to love it.  So, that was fun.  It’s been a long time since we’ve gone to a store just to look around and find fun things to buy.

We had a guy come over yesterday to trim up the magnolia tree beside our house.  Its limbs were scratching the side of the house and our side bedroom window.  It was also wearing on the shingles up on the top so Mike wanted to get it taken care of.  He did a really good job and it was a bit weird to NOT hear the limbs during last nights thunderstorms.  He didn’t charge us very much and that’s one thing off of our to do list.

Work is going well, Jeri is back after being gone for several days.  I let our boss know that I kept my head above water while she was gone, but holy cow, I was happy she is back.  haha  I kinda’ don’t feel as bad about taking off three days next week though.  heehee  I love that we can forward our phones to different extensions over here, at my other work location, we didn’t have that capability.  So I know I won’t come back to a whole bunch of voice mails.  My out of office alert will let everybody know I’m gone, but I’ll still have a ton of emails to wade through.

I just sent a text to my sister to let her know we’d be down there this weekend.  I’ve not told Rory just in case the timing doesn’t work out.  I never know with my sister whether or not she will be able to come up or not. 

Gas prices are getting horrible again.  I feel terrible for the commuters we have, its bad enough just going across town. 

Mike told me this morning that he had to take the dogs out into the front yard rather than taking them into the back like normal.  Our backyard has turned into a lake from the storms last night.  We are going to have to figure out something to do with that.  A couple of people have mentioned putting in a French drain, but I don’t even know what that is.  Time to do some research and then to find a contractor that can do it for us.  There is absolutely no drainage from the yard and I’m very thankful we don’t have a basement.  I’m sure that it would be flooded every time it rains.
