Saturday

Decided I better do an update before you all think I fell off our planet.  I’m still doing my best at keeping up with all of you, but a little behind there too.

We ended up not going down to Mom’s last weekend like we’d planned.  Mom called us Saturday morning and said that the weather was supposed to be all kinds of stormy again and she didn’t really want us driving in it.  Turns out that it’s a good thing we didn’t go because they all ended up coming down with strep throat on top of the yucky weather.  We were much better off staying put.  I hate that I missed my baby time, but we’re going to go either this coming weekend or Memorial Day weekend instead.  I’m looking forward to it again.

Busy busy at work still.  New projects coming online and one of the project managers is on vacation.  I’ve been helping out with his things until he gets back.  It’s fun for me to do that so I don’t mind the extra duties.  We are being moved on May 17th to a new location.  I’ll be in a whole other building, but will have my own office again.  I’m looking forward to that more than I thought I would.  We’ll be on the second floor, so I’ll even have a view from my window.  I packed up my first crate yesterday and will continue doing that so it’s not as much to do all at once.  I’m glad I went through all of my stuff not that long ago and threw away unnecessary items.  Sure is going to help move.

I got my labwork results back at the doctors last week as well.  Everything is really good, except my triglycerides.  Even that number is not high, but a bit higher than he wants it to be.  My thyroid is fine, my HDL and LDL are both perfect, my A1C is 5.2.  Oh, I am anemic though.  I always border on that anyway, but I fell well below the cut off this time and so I am having to take iron supplements.  He also sent me to have an ultrasound of my kidneys done to make sure they are still doing well.  I went in on Thursday and Friday morning they called me.  The blood flow is just fine and there are no problems there.  I go back in August to have blood drawn again as a follow up, and if my A1C has come down more, he will take me off of my diabetic medication.  I think it’s time to start getting serious about eating a diabetic diet.  I don’t right now, I just let the medication do its job and eat what I want.  I know the benefits will be multiple though if I’d behave.

It is 3:15 and I’m debating on what I want to do.  I’m thinking I might go haunt the Dollar store or something.  Mike is asleep, I won’t wake him up until probably 5.  He didn’t go to bed until noon, so he’ll be tired tonight.  The only thing we’re doing tomorrow is going through closets and shoes though so it’ll be ok.  It was even his idea, everytime I bring it up, he doesn’t want to do it.  I want to move my winter clothes over into Rory’s closet and that will give me a lot more room.  We need to go through his as well and get rid of the things he can’t wear.  I see a healthy sized donation going to the goodwill store.

Three of my friends got new iPhones this week and I’ve become the resident iPhone expert.  It’s funny, but they love them and I’m glad.  They are all catching on very fast, I knew it wouldn’t take long.  Mike will get one in July when he’s up for renewal.  I need to see about giving his phone to Mom maybe.  They might be up for renewal too, will have to look into it.  We won’t get any of them smart phones, it would cost way too much.

The Farmer’s Market opened up here today so we went and wandered around.  Bought some salad greens, onions, and a loaf of homemade bread.  We also found a jar of sugar free strawberry butter that I think will be really good on toast.  YUM!  I love the Farmers Market, but I sure hope we get a lot of good stuff out of our own garden this year.  Oh, we also bought some rainbow chard.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  The weather is beautiful here and I think it’s time for me to go get out in it.  Take care of yourselves!

I sorta want an IPhone, but Im anti Apple because they are so monopoly-ish. Plus I have Sprint who is heavy into Andriod right now. Glad to hear about the drs reports. Good luck with the diabetic diet.

Strep throat seems to be going around. Glad you missed it! The strawberry butter sounds delicious! ryn: That’s exactly the brand of coffee maker it is. The stores around here don’t have a very big selection of the cups, though, so please do tell me which website you order from. Thanks!
