Nice weekend

I stayed up too late last night though and am tired.  Had a good weekend though, even though it didn’t go as planned.

On Friday night, Mike and his coworker had decided that we should all four go to Tulsa on Saturday and just goof off.  That sounded like fun and so Amanda and I told Mike and Joe to make the plans.  Joe and Amanda were supposed to be at our house by 10:00 Saturday morning.  Amanda is notorious for running late and that makes me nuts, so I didn’t figure they would be there much before 10:30 at the very earliest.  Yeah, I gave her way too much credit.  At noon I told Mike to call them and tell them to forget it.  He agreed and told Joe that maybe next time, but that we had lost interest in going that day.  Instead, he called his family in KS and we decided to go that direction instead.  We went to the farm to see his brother first.  They have gotten  moved into their Dad’s house and it looks really good.  They did a lot of work on it….it was a bit odd seeing it the same yet so different.  We were out there for quite a long time and still had to go to his Mom’s, so we finally left there around 4:30 or 5.  We got to his Moms and Mike set a speed record for getting her computer set back up again.  It was still 6:30 before we got out of there and headed home.  Mike hadn’t been to bed yet, so I was a bit worried about him driving, but he did good.  I read my book both on the way up there and on the way back.  We were both very happy to get home that evening.

Sunday, we had a couple of friends come by the house.  It’s the first time they’ve seen it and both were very impressed.  We enjoyed having their company and wished they could have stayed longer, but they were on their way back home from Tulsa and I know they were tired too. 

I found out how much my bonus is going to be today…and YAY!  Mike has already spent his….he found out Friday how much he was getting and YAY again.  Mike went this morning and put a deposit down on his new toy…it will be delivered to us on Saturday and he’ll pay the remainder of it then.  See:

It’s a 1976 Dodge Aspen R/T.  I don’t know very much about this type of car, so I’m anxious to learn.  It’s a project car…does run, but needs work.  Which is exactly why he bought it.  He wanted something he didn’t put a lot of money into to learn how to work on them.  Body work, mechanical, etc.  We’re replacing that hood, it’s hideous and have debated removing teh louvers on the back windows.  With the right paint job, they could look good….but with that color, they don’t.  I think he’ll have a lot of fun with it.  I’ll take pictures as he goes.  There’s no time line and no plans of what to do when he’s done….just something for him to enjoy.

I have a ton of stuff to get done and I’ve been working on this entry off and on all day.  Gonna post it so I can get busy.  Take care of yourselves!
