Moving forward

Remember quite some time ago, I had talked about wanting to check into Lasik Eye Surgery for myself?  I’m going to move forward with it and I’ve contacted an eye clinic in Tulsa to come in for the free preliminary screening.  They haven’t contacted me back yet, but it’s Saturday so I’m not surprised.  I let them know I"m off work on Wednesday already and would love to be able to come in then if at all possible.  We’ll see what happens.

My bonus alone is enough to pay for this surgery outright and I know it’ll be gone soon if I don’t act on it.  Mike bought his car with his and he will get carried away and spend more than he realizes quite quickly on parts for it.  Two large purchases at one time make me very nervous, but we’re not taking away from our normal bills so I just need to grit my teeth and do it.

"Someone" is walking around upstairs again.  Yeah, we still get the noises here and there.  A few days ago there was a chair rolling across the floor in Rory’s room.  We keep that door closed all of the time, so knew nobody was in there to be causing it.  Mike is at the store right now and I’m downstairs in the computer nook.  The footsteps I’m hearing are directly above me, which would be Mike’s closet.  Yeah, can’t walk around in there even if we wanted to….it’s too small.

The car will be here in an hour or so, so Mike is very excited.  I want to go to Hobby Lobby or something after it’s here….I know that he’ll want to go to some parts stores too so maybe we’ll be out and about this afternoon.

We’re leaving about 7 in the morning to go to Mom’s.  We’ll have the car loaded and ready to pull out so tomorrow morning won’t be very hectic.  I’m going to plug in my Nook and my camera so they are both fully charged before we leave.  I went and found the Jean Auel Earth’s Children series at Barnes & Noble’s site.  I love the books of hers that I’ve read and am thinking about downloading all six onto my Nook.  That would be about $45.00 though so I’ve not done it yet.  #6, The Land of Painted Caves would be a pre-order, it’s not been released yet.  So, still debating…I could order the five already out , takes it down to about $35.00.

We had a few teaser days of Spring, but now we’re back to dreary gray cold ones.  I’m ready for warmth!!

I have to find a college basketball game for my little nephew’s PS3.  He asked me for that and I’m finding out what Rory wants.  The best Aunts in the world have to visit bearing gifts, of course.  hahaha   Rory just told me anything with peace signs or zebra stripes on it.  KMart had zebra striped comforter sets like what we got for Mom and ourselves.  We’re heading back to Kmart in a little bit and we’ll get her the zebra striped set.  Yay, a practical gift and she’ll love it.

I always seem to be typing my entries at lunch time these days.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Take care of yourselves!

P.S. Mike just told me to order those books for my Nook.

Ooooh, ghostie.

Maybe the ghostie is the reason you got such a good deal on the house. It would be interesting to follow-up with the former owner and ask them. In the meantime, it’s good to know that you’re okay with that, but maybe you need to have a little talk with your friend and tell them to move on, or at least keep it down. 😉

Ooo I hope you heard word back about the LASIK. That could be a very good investment.

I lived in a house where we heard footsteps at night. But nothing malicious ever happened, so it did not bother us.

The idea of not needing glasses is so very appealing. But I am not sure I could bring myself to undergo laser surgery. A guy at work, however, just had it, and he is very happy with the results.

maybe you ought to call the ghost hunters from the tv show…

the surgery sounds a good option now that you have the money. Good luck with it…I hope they contact you soon. hugs P

If you’re like me that $45 spent on Nook books took a lot of thinking about. But those books are worth the prize. They’re massive and you already know that you will enjoy them. I have the hard bound book on order because I already have the first five. Only problem is I delayed getting the last one until I couldn’t find the hard bound one and I have that one in paperback. Did you get the Free Friday Nook book? It’s a vampire book so I didn’t get it but I know lots of people do like them. Have a great time at your Mom’s!

P.S. – Best wishes on the surgery.

Spooky! Good luck with your eyes… I wouldn’t want to do mine, but then I think I look better with glasses ON – they help balance out my big round face and make my eyes look bigger. (huggles)

That sounds like a very good use for your bonus. 🙂

My former pastor had that surgery, and it worked out well for him. I pray it does for you too! 🙂

I hope you had a great trip:)

I agree with one of your other noters. I think I look better with my glasses than without. Good luck with the surgery, though, and enjoy the new books!
