Checking in….

Yay, it’s finally starting to warm up some.  Spring and Fall, my two favorite seasons.  I am hoping Spring makes me feel a whole lot bettter this year.  Winter has really taken its toll on me this year and I feel like I’ve aged a LOT!  I don’t like that at all.  I told Mike this morning I’m going to start taking vitamins every day and see if that helps me.

Mike and I went to Best Buy on Sunday.  He got me a really nice cover for my Nook Color.  It’s pink with green trim and it works really well.  We still need a screen protector, but haven’t been able to find one so far.  I’ve just been really careful with it.  I’ve really been enjoying it.

Mikes favorite co worker was a contract employee up until Tuesday and then our company hired him on permanent.  He was so happy and we were happy for him.  Both Mike and I know what it’s like to be a contractor.  He and his fiance’ are going to start looking for a house to buy now.  They’ve been renting an apartment since 2009 and he’s tired of throwing money away.  He’s ready to make the big purchase and his pay increase is going to allow that fairly easily.  I told him they needed to find a house close to us and he said he was thinking the same thing.  So, Mike and I will help search.  🙂

I am taking a long weekend at the end of Feb/beginning of March.  I will be off the weekend and not go back to work until Thursday.  Mike and I are going to head South to see my family, it’s been a while and that baby is growing WAY too fast.  We will leave Sunday and come back on Tuesday then this gives us Wednesday still to do whatever we want before he goes back to work that night.  I’m really looking forward to it.  I’ll have a new Facebook profile pic soon.  yay!

I talked to Mom yesterday about bringing the baby up here for a week in the summertime.  She thinks that will be a good idea and knows the baby’s Mom will be fine with it.  I think that will be a lot of fun and I’m sure Rory will be here to help take care of her too.  Mike is home during the day the first three days of the week and I can take vacation days on Th and F so he can sleep and not worry about her.  I think that will work out really well and be a ton of fun.

My coworker, Jeri’s, youngest daughter goes to college this fall.  I’m so thankful I don’t have to mess with all of that.  She’s been drowning in a sea of scholarship paperwork and admissions stuff.  She’s being really smart though and buying things for her now.  The remaining time she has at home is going to fly by.  Jeri isn’t going to be too pleasant to be around for a week or two after she’s gone.  Not that I blame her.  I need to figure out something nice to do for her during that time period.  If only to make my life easier.  heehee

This was a boring entry….sorry about that.  I’m hungry, time to go heat up lunch.  Have a great day and take care of yourselves!

I have no idea what kinds of college purchases should/could be made now…I don’t even want to think about it. I too will need a friend like you in late August.

Spring will not come too soon for me this year. Sick of being sick this winter.

sorry you had such a hard winter…hopefully your warmer weather will make a difference….to your spirit as well as your physical health. Down here in NZ the temperatures are finally abating from extreme heat and humidity to a tolerable heat….its a sure sign of impending autumn for us. hugs p

We are thrilled about spring around here!

It was kind of springlike here today. 53 degrees! No daffodils yet, though. What books have you read on your Nook so far? I mean, do you buy current books or do you do what everyone else here seems to do – download free and inexpensive classics? I jump in every week for Free Friday and see what they’re offering.
