What we have been up to, and some pics
It has been a busy last few days. Thursday, I met up with my mom at the park so they boys could play. We had lunch at the local hometown restaurant. Mom knew practically every person there and that walked in the door. That is one thing I don’t miss at all when it comes to living in a small town. I don’t particularly care to run into a million people that I know or used to. We went to Mom’s house to hang out for a while after lunch. Friday my new living room furniture was supposed to be delivered. They called to reschedule our delivery and I was angry. We had already taken our old furniture outside on the patio and I didn’t want to spend the next 5 days with no living room furniture. I told them that we would cancel our order if we had to wait that long, and what do you know, they could deliver it the next day. Saturday they delivered our furniture. They tore up my door (like broke chunks out of the side of it!) and tore the loveseat. Ugh. They are supposed to send an insurance adjuster to look at our door and repair/replace it. They’re supposed to be bringing a replacement love seat tomorrow. I’m hoping that they don’t destroy the other door in the process (they are going to try the front door this time). Saturday night we took the boys to the drive in movies. They were playing Despicable Me 2 (which we had already seen in the theater) and WWZ. The kids slept through the second movie (World War Z). It was pretty good. I wouldn’t recommend watching it at a drive in theater though, because of the dark scenes and shaky cam. It was hard to see what was going on at times.
Sunday we took the kids to the city park and rode the train for the first time. It is a small train that goes around the park complex (which has baseball fields, horse show rings, playgrounds, etc). The kids were beyond excited 😛 Ethan made me very nervous because he kept wanting to lean over the side, and I was holding on to him tightly lol. Yesterday we went to Christiansburg to pick up a few new pieces of clothing for Jamie. He has a business trip at the end of this week. We haven’t spent a night apart in quite some time, so it will be weird. We stopped at O’Charleys for lunch, and then took the boys to the pool/water park. They had a blast.
I am keeping Izzy for a few hours this morning. We haven’t seen her in about 2 months, and missed her. I don’t want to babysit full time or anything though. I’ve got to go pick up our kitty this afternoon from the vet. She is being spayed and a few other things. I don’t think she is going to be very happy with me when I pick her up. I’m going to have to keep a very close eye on Owen so that he doesn’t try to pick her up because he likes to carry her around all day.
My mom is hosting a family reunion on Saturday. I’m not too excited about going. Its not a large reunion or anything. It will just be her brothers and sisters (she is 1 of 8 kids), their kids and grand kids. I need to decide what dish I am making to take (it is pot luck). I wish they would have rented a picnic shelter at the lake or something so that there would be more to for the kids to do.
This is Jamie’s last week of working flex schedule. I liked having 3 day weekends with him, but I’ll enjoy him getting home earlier in the evening. He meets with the surgeon next week, which means he will probably have his surgery next week.
He has been on this new car kick for the past couple of months. It is driving me bonkers. He get bored with things very quickly and it can get frustrating. I think he has decided to maybe trade my car in for a smaller SUV. We have been looking at the Mitsubishi Outlanders. They are very reasonably priced, and have an excellent safety rating. I like my little car ALOT (it gets like 38 mpg!), but it isn’t very safe if we were to be in a significant car crash. He said he would rather have us in a safer larger vehicle and sacrifice some gas mileage. We’ll see.
Here are a couple of pics.

Our new sofa and wall colors (doesnt show up to great in the photo, but the bottom is an orange color and the top is a cream color). We haven’t gotten new end tables yet.
