warm weather, Owen **
I am wearing shorts today, which is funny considering just this past Thursday we received a couple inches of sleet and snow. Its supposed to be a high of 78 today, and 80 tomorrow 🙂 I’m hoping the nice weather sticks around. I’m over the cold and snow. I want sunny days and flip flops! I’m excited for the scenery to green up a bit and flowers to start blooming. We took the kids to the lake yesterday to play. It was fairly crowded because of the first nice weather of the season. The boys had a lot of fun and got good and dirty. Owen kept making me nervous running on the dock. I had wanted to go for a walk, but I was just too tired. I have been so drained lately, and just don’t have the energy for much of anything. I’m not sure why. I just want to sleep all of the time.
We took the boys to a local pizza place after going to the lake. I’m not sure if Ethan was just overly hungry or what but he threw the biggest fit when we got there. He usually doesn’t scream THAT bad. It got to the point that I had Jamie take him to the truck and let him settle down. Ethan was so angry, that it was actually a little funny. He was pointing his finger at Jamie and jabbering/yelling at him. It was funny because I had never seen him do that before.
They finally tested Owen’s motor skills at preschool. I had requested for them to do it LAST year, but they kind of brushed me off. Well turns out, Owen has weak (low?) muscle tone. He is going to be getting 60 mins per month of occupational therapy for it, as well as ordering him some items such as special scissors. I had noticed that he has trouble holding a pencil and using scissors and other things that require fine motor skills a long time ago. I’m really hoping we can get it sorted out. I’m just annoyed that it is something that they could have been working on for the past YEAR if they would have listened to me. Owen’s teacher says that he has been talking more in school and is starting to socialize with his classmates. Maybe adding that extra day per week was what he needed to make him feel comfortable. He was only going 2 days, now he goes 3. Next fall he will go 4 days per week like all of the rest of the preschoolers. For those who haven’t been reading me, Owen got into preschool early (it starts at age 4 here) due to being behind in some areas.
