Snow, sickness, plateau
It has been snowing since Sunday. I don’t think it is supposed to stop until tonight/tomorrow. I’d love to take the kids out to play in it, but Owen is sick. I’m not sure what he has. He started out with a slight cough Sunday night. By yesterday evening, he was laying around and looked pitiful and had a fever of 103. He ran a fever pretty much all night and had one when we woke up this morning. It comes down with medicine, so I’ve just been giving him tylenol and motrin. His cough sounds awful, and he keeps saying his nose hurts. I’m hesitant to take him to urgent care (his pediatrician doesn’t take walk ins and only sees your kid by appointment. Did I mention I want to find the kids a new dr!) because I figure they will just tell me it is a virus and to keep doing what I’m doing. Plus there was a massive rock slide on the interstate a few days ago, and traffic is being detoured through our city, and it is really backed up. If he doesn’t show some improvement by this evening, I’ll probably have Jamie take him. Luckily, his preschool has been closed for the last 2 days due to snow, so he hasn’t been counted absent.
I took Friday and Saturday off from working out. Sunday and Monday’s workouts seemed extra tiring for some reason. Usually I am feeling good/energized after working out, but i have been dragging the last two days. Wonder what is up with that. Maybe a lack of sleep is to blame. I’m going to try to start increasing the resistance on the elliptical. I’ve been increasing the amount of time, now I want to amp up the intensity of the workout. I have got to start seeing the scale move again. I usually hit a plateau while losing weight, and I’m determined to not give up. I swear it looks like my face is getting smaller, but it could just be my wishful thinking. Ideally, I’d LOVE to lose a size before our beach trip (which is just a little over 2 months away). I’m not counting on it or anything, it would just be nice.
