Something I have realized about myself

So I don’t know why this is true, it just is.  I don’t know if I was born this way with my brain wired this way, or if i was raised this way, or trained into it from my education and life experience or what combination of those it may be.  But it really doesn’t matter why all that matters is that it is, and it goes for how I view everything whether science, or psychology, or religion, or whatever it may be.  There are few exceptions.

I require proof.  I don’t base much on faith.  I need the evidence right there, staring me in the face, refusing to be ignored.  Obvious, indisputable or at least very convincing proof.  Not just whispers that it is there.  Not just feels good to think it’s there.  Objective, no denying it proof.  I question everything.

*sigh* anyways don’t know how to wrap up that thought process but whatever.

On to something completely unrelated: slipper poll.  It’s gotten entirely too close.  Need more votes.  Send the link to your friends LOL http://www.acepolls.com/polls/1080074-which-are-the-better-slippers/

Proof of?

February 4, 2010

but just what is proof? Just what can you trust? Our perceptions of this world are never actually the way things are, they’re always colored by different physical things (lighting can play tricks on our eyes, atmospheric noise can make us hear things differently, etc) or by psychological colorations (we’ve all played the telephone game when we were younger, when we hear/experience things, in order to comprehend/remember them in our own mind, we compare them to previous experiences/sounds, and that experience or whatever was heard is no longer as it actually was but has been “colored” by our own previous memories)
