Friends in pain

Noters Beware!! This is a “mean-note” free diary.

Several of my friends from back when I did Renaissance Festivals are hurting right now because they lost dogs this week. Apparently it has not been a good week for our 4-legged friends.

My friend Janet and her husband, Bill watched their dog get shot before their eyes. Bill and Janet live in Colorado, in the country, and the dog was not on a leash. They chose to live there years ago so they could have space and freedom and not have to have the regulations that one would have in a city. However, their neighbor, who runs an excavation business, is an ass. When the dog got curious and wandered over there, the idiot grabbed a gun and freaked out. Bill and Janet were right behind the dog, trying to get him back when the guy aimed and shot. The dog, Roscoe, lived for 2 days at the vets before finally losing his life. I guess the guy also threatened Bill with the gun before the whole thing was over.

And then my friend Kim lost her 14 year old black German Shepherd, Spirit. My dog, Rooby, and Spirit were great friends. Rooby was absolutely in love with Spirit.

I am so sad for everyone. I am going to miss Spirit so much. And it just makes me worry about Rooby that much more. He’s a year older than Spirit… 🙁
