Spring approacheth!
Dear Diary. I’m been away for a while again. Part of that is this crazy slow dial-up access I have to suffer with. I just can’t force myself to go the satellite route due to the cost. The other part is I do most of my blogging on the website I set up to keep friends and family up-to-date on how Kelly is doing. It can be found at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kmotz
Things are still trending positively. Kelly’s cancer continues to respond to the carboplatin chemo drug. On Jan. 1, her CA125 count was 156. Since then it has fallen to 135 on the 18th of January and to 130 on February 8. This is the best CA125 count she’s had since she was diagnosed! Her doctor says its incredibly encouraging that the carbo is still working and that Kelly is doing great by all accounts. What a wonderful blessing that is!
Recalling a few events since 1-1, we spent a weekend in the Quad Cities attending a bald eagle festival, discovered a new county rest stop on the way to a day at Spring Mill State Park…..as you can see.
We’ve been to Spring Mil a few times. Had a good time staying overnight in the Inn for Valentine’s Day. I think I’m going to get back over there quite often and do a little exploring in the 3 or 4 caves in the park.
Lindsey is due to deliver our first grand-child March 9. That’s coming up soon and there have been 2 baby showers for her this week-end. I’m so grateful that Kelly was able to experience the joy of Lindsey’s marriage, these baby showers, and will soon be able to hold our grand-daughter in her arms and watch her grow.
I’m really looking forward to spring! The days are now getting longer and we have the majority of winter behind us. I’m also looking forward to getting a trailer hitch on the Outback and doing some boating out on Lake Monroe this year………
Here’s a nice shot of Kelly at one of our Spring Mil trips:
Glad for the update. I have been wondering how she is faring. Best wishes for a safe delivery in March!
