Keeping the momentum going!

Dear diary.  Monday’s CT scan results were very, very positive!  As compared to the 8-24 scan, one tumor has "resolved"….meaning it is gone…and 3 remaining are all reduced in size at least by half.  All previously enlarged abdominal lymph nodes are now normal in size.

What a relief…..I sure hope we can keep this thing in check.  We’re doing "good" right now and are thankful for it.  Kelly’s next chemo is Monday and we’ll also meet with her oncologist for an exam and discussion of future treatment.  I expect Kelly will stay on carboplatin for the foreseeable future.  Let me tell you something….dealing with advanced ovarian cancer is no fun.  None whatsoever.

I wish there were a way to raise the awareness level in women everywhere.  There are early stage symptoms.  This disease must be caught in the early stages in order to effectively treat…and even cure…it.

Anyone reading this:  go to the following website…print and distribute the information to all of the women in your lives.  Go to http://ovariancancer.jhmi.edu

Way to go diary!  Although you’ll never know, you may just have saved someone’s life!
