I read your thoughtful article about VH1, and your stress on technology’s role in the fragmentation of social identity reminded me of Jean-François Lyotard’s _The Postmodern Condition_. Our pop cultural metanarratives are breaking down!

Great article. It really highlights the reason why I’m anxious about fully embracing postmodernity and all its trimmings: a de-centered culture composed of various misshapened, tired parts kluged together isn’t something that sounds satisfying or progressive to me. There’s a difference between paying homage, drawing inspiration from the past (we can’t help it!) and out-and-out laziness coupled with marketing. *yawn* Boring! And, scary. Anywho, nice work. I shall share it with others, yo. Kindred spirits. ~*
