Antarctica

Almost a year ago, PenguinsWalkAmoungUs a good friend of mine (and perhaps one of yours) passed away by her own hand. Ever since, I have found it difficult to find any words that are in any way adequate to express my feelings about it to others, let alone those who knew her.

I did compose a few tunes for her back in the day (including the anthem for the Cult of the Immaculate Penguin), and one of the things I love about music when it can say the things other forms can’t. So I figured this would be the best route. This one’s for you Maria.

I’m so behind with OD right now, I have literally overlooked this since March. I’m so sorry. This is a beautiful idea. I miss her too, all the time. It’s good to know others still remember her as well. It’s so hard to describe how it feels knowing that she’s gone, and given the way we knew one another via OD. Also good to hear you back on the old laptop making tunes. I still have a bunch from backin the day stored in my WinAmp. This is great. Anthemic, it has that kind of epic feel to it as it builds. I love that it isn’t entirely sad – she would love that about it too. Celebrate the penguin.
