confusion and nondiscerning taste.
It really makes me angry. What I’m about to spew forth is not fact. It’s all based on fact but I don’t have the inclination to do the research to make it completely factual. So all numbers are guestimated. So be it. The numbers don’t really matter. What really matters is that it has occured.
When did America become the owners of democracy. Doling it out to the chosen few, granting its glory to those who could use it, assisting with firearms and military during the transition and withholding money when we perceive that our generous gift may have been misused—- when the people don’t come through and hire the man that we back.
When did it become more important for us to spend millions of dollars to give this gift to another country than to keep public television alive. Is it more important for us to force our gift upon others than to teach our own children letters and the importance of community? Do they really want to offer up Big Bird as a sacrifice to give the unwanting such a gift. A gift of something that cannot be owned, that’s very essence is free. How can we make that right in our minds?
How is it that we cut out educational grants and funding for our National Gaurd, but we can still afford to spend millions on warfare? How the hell can we be pleased with ourselves when our veterans, our very bringer of "democracy", cannot make the transition from war to peace and choose to end their lives instead. What kind of society will send a man to war and then abandoned him when he needs help. We know about post traumatic stress disorder. We know how to help people, but we just don’t spend the money to help these people.
And what has finally sent me over the edge is that while all of this is happening our government is abusing the democracy they claim to love so badly. If you know the right people you can get away with shooting your friends and hunting without a liscense. Oh wells, who cares right? You can get away with taking more vacations than any other president in your second year of your second term. Even Roosevelt took fewer vacations. And there’s TWO years left. Poor American democracy, it’s really going to need some therapy after this presidency’s term is over.
I’m angry because of racial profiling. I’m angry because a helicopter flies over my parents house in the middle of the nowhere five times a night in search of terrosists. I’m angry that the FBI has requested for all of the deeds of leand along the border. I’m angry at this glaring misallocation of money and the fast sink in to economic depression.
And now that I’ve public expressed these feelings, I wonder if my record will be examed. I wonder what they’ll make of the quantaties of books I’ve borrowed from the library. What kind of impression will my nondiscerning taste in novels make.
