So Long 2010, Hello 2011

Hey guys, been a while aye. Busy with life to even think of stuff to post, apologies there. Thanks to those who sent me well wishes and xmas greetings, a very happy new year to you too! Here comes the perennial "sending the year off" post. Hope 2010 was a good year for you and all the very best for 2011 🙂

Looking back at 2010, it really was a very good year for me, two highlights which i really really really enjoyed and appreciated was ORDing and starting uni life. The new friends i made and the strengthening of old bonds were really something i relished. To all the awesome friends i’ve made in 2010, cheers 🙂 Did I keep my 2010 resolution throughout the year you might ask, yes, to a certain extent. Tried my best to be happy and live life to the fullest and i did, albeit the inevitable disappointments along the way but, what the heck. Nevertheless, each year which passes brings new experiences and lessons learnt, ones which i’ll never forget.

I was searching for something which i had lost a long time ago throughout 2010. Searching so hard that i might have missed it. Sometimes, the very things we search so hard and arduously for, are the things right in front of us and we tend to overlook and miss it. To be honest, i haven’t found it yet, but i’m not giving up. We all try so hard sometimes, and when we fail, we fall even harder. But hey, what does not kill you, definitely makes you stronger. I’m proud to say im much stronger now. So, you can keep knocking, but you won’t knock me down. You’ll never break my stride, never take my pride. Sometimes, we want something so badly that we leave ourselves exposed and vulnerable. I’ve learnt to better control, not to get too lost in the moment.

Sometimes we go looking for things, we tend to forget to take the time out and breathe in the air or to take a look around at the beauty of things. That’s what i’ve learnt – to slow down, take a step back and relax a little. What’s the hurry? Taking things with a pinch of salt. That leads me to my resolution for 2011 – To slow down and enjoy the sights and sounds, to appreciate the things which makes one happy, to see the joy in things or in other words, take a chill pill and enjoy. This time round, i’ll probably sit back and see how things go. Come what may. Everything happens for a reason, I believe. Honestly, it is hella tiring to keep on going on top gear, its time for me to slow down and see what passes by.

I look back at 2010. Hell, i’m fortunate enough to have the things i have, to know the people i know, to be able to do the things i have done. And of course, im grateful for all of these things. But still, its frustrating to have the very thing i really need to elude me all of this time. Nonetheless, it is less exhausting to look at the positive side of things than the negative. So, i’ll bite my lips and look forward. Come what may.

Having had a good turn of events at the tail end of 2010, 2011, like every new year/month/day, brings New Hope. New Inspiration. New Experiences. And most fortunately, New People. 2011 looks very promising and hopeful and i hope it is for you too. Man, i can’t wait for the year to get moving. Excited is an understatement. I thank God for everything that has happened thus far. I wouldn’t have done it any other way if i could do it again. I believe the setbacks are just preparations for greater things.

Auld acquaintance be forgot.

2011, come surprise me. I’ll be waiting.
