Day 6 – What music is most important to you?

the question states: what band/musician is most important to you?

that changes too.  i was six the first time i heard "yes, jesus loves me".  that day, a bunch of us little kids were loved on and told over and over that indeed he did.  we were special because jesus loved the little children.  all of them, all across the world.  i made quit an impression on me.  i felt loved and safe until we sent and sat out with the grownups for the preacher’s sermon.  the sermon was scary.  i went home  full of scary news from the father of the man who said he would keep us safe and happy.

i gave that up and listened around a little more.i found radio a couple of years later.  i loved the top 40, but my dad would not let me listen to that "devil worshipping shit".  i could get a little of it from time to time outside of the house.

i fell in with country music and began singing out loud.  i was eleven or so.  tanya something tucker…. she sang girliechic songs.  like a cross between the dixie chicks and enya.  after i got the taste of all her music out of my mouth, i switched over to janis joplin as much as i could.  i even got my dad to learn the cords so i could sing "house of the rising sun".  i immersed me into the words.  singing my fantasies out as much as i could.  the words were perfect for me because i would shape my thinking and feeling to match the world of the lyrics.

when i would want to fall down inside my sadness, i began to hear and feel pink floyd.  i listened hard for the space that i fit into with their music and lyrics.  always found it too.  yeah…. it always fit.

then tom waits wandered by with his big ol balls.  i like him in little black meals.  i love the crash test dummies.  they sing with a huge clowny smiley face on, but they still mean what they sing.  and they are singing to adore him….. our lord.
i love the celts.  the celtic women.  i could give a rat’s butt about history and wars and fueds.

to this end, i must saY, there is too much noise in my life already for me to be able to include very much music into it when i am awake and trying to listen to anything around me.  it conflicts with other noise.  so does any background noise.  it annoys people.

i’m leaving a whole lot of important music out, but i have chores to do.  and i need to pee.  that one wins.

Yep – peeing trumps everything 😉 I’m enjoying reading these entries. You’ve been quiet for too long. I’ve missed you. xoxo

As far as music, I’m stuck in the 80’s. Well, maybe as far as anything….

RYNote. I should be of to Portsmouth soon, but this week a cousin of mine from Yorkshire is staying with her, he’s a good chap, he calls Mum quite often by phone; his visit will be a real treat for Mum – and we wont have any difficult call’s from Mum until he returns to Yoyrkshire.

RYNote. Thanks for your note, my 3 day virus managed 5 or 6 days! And alas Mum is playing up, my Sister took her out in the car on Saturday, when they got back Mum refused to get out of the car, her apartment was to hot, Portsmouth was hot that day! She stayed there just over an hour, until a certain need took her up to the apartment!

I nearly forgot, Good morning! I suppose it is that time in Texas!

ryn: the whole “self help” thing annoys me, a lot of them are shady like The Secret which is pretty awful when you think about it, and some of the stuff they have said is just creepy. People are too individual to fit into those books. Too bad you can’t have them custom written for you.

RYN: I would love to write a book of essays. I once read once called: “Dreaming of Hitler” that I enjoyed.
