12/12/12
what’s that number say? is today an auspicious day? i am not into numerology so i don’t know. i do know i like 12…..
i also like the fact that it’s warmer here today. i woke up at 4 am on monday going into tuesday….. came out of my room and it was freezing cold in the house. had to pee, had to pee, had to pee so bad and of course this is the morning my feet are getting tangled in my o2 tubing and i’m all astumble trying to get me and the cord out of the way of my stupid walker. i finally made it to the bathroom and had a little shiver-party on the potty while i peed. i’m always grateful not to pee my pants.
i came out into the kitchen and sat down at my computer. it was awful, it was so cold. i was shivering. keith came into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee and stood under the vent just staring at it. then he said," the heater is broke. this vent is blowing cold air." he went into the hall and saw the tempreture in the house was 60 degrees and blowing like crazy trying to warm it up. the breaker was just fine. so he shut the heater down and told me to call mike and went to work.
i went and found clothes. lots of them. layers and layers of shirts and some socks. i even found a pair of long pants i can still wear. i have 2 pairs of linen/blend pants that cover my ankles, but they were in the wash. all i had was capri length stuff. the pants i came across were pajama pants that don’t really look pajama-ish. i don’t like them because they have no pockets for my phone. but i guess you don’t really need pockets in pants for sleeping. i also do not wear pants to sleep in. generally. i did last night and was happy to do so.
like i said, it’s much warmer here today. i cut my layers way back. waiting for my landlord to bring one of his fireman buds to figure out what is iggoing on with the heater and see if they can fix it.. 2012 has been real hard on appliances here. the fridge died right after the washer died. both were repairable, but it takes just about one month to get them fixed on this "home shield" insurance policy mike and his wife carry on all the appliances in the house. it takes them 2 weeks to get out here and appraise the unit. then they go and leave you with a broke thing while they order parts and wait for them to come in. it’s always been another 2 weeks so far, to get them back out here to install. i did not want to go through christmas without heat. gah.
okay. i have more stuff to talk about, but i got up at 4 am today and made 2 big pots of soup. and i cleaned up after myself and ran the dishwasher after i finished loading it full. i am beginning to feel knackered. i have a big old case of the sleepies coming on. and i have to pee again.
Knackered – I love that word. Can you beg, borrow or steal a space heater or two to keep in the room where you are?

Ruby I’ve been meaning to write you and haven’t so I’m doing it right now. I got the jewelry real fast (like always) and I love it. The carnelian butterfly necklace is a gift for Monica’s mom. That is her favorite color. The earrings are a generous and lovely gift and I want real bad to keep that set but I’m loving the bracelet – it goes real good with the necklace I got a while back. Anyway, thank you my dear friend. And Merry Christmas to you and yours. Much love, Susan

rynrmn: Yes! Thank you – I would never turn down jewelry from you 🙂 I keep thinking I should take Annie’s picture down but I just can’t bring myself to do it yet. It makes me sad to see it but I can’t let her go yet. So happy the weather is warming up. Being cold is miserable. I sent you a photo to your facebook address of the bracelet you don’t remember that I love. I am wearing it today. much love, S

ryn: Yes she really will be. She plays with her dolls and stuffed animals and treats them like humans. She takes very good care of them too, plus all her toys. I don’t think she has mentioned her baby sister she insisted she was having even after they told her it was a boy. LOL I knew she would be ok with a brother. I’ve always wished I had a brother, especially after the way my sister treats me and we haven’t spoken in 6.5 yrs.

I’m a fan of Alan Bennett, in one of his old diaries he hound a comment on a play he was writing at that time, ‘get some silliness into it’ I like some every day, thanks for your kind note ……….. (c8

RYNote. Yes it is rather English, very small homes and tiny gardens, to get some thing better to live in is a big ask; which most canÂ’t afford! A part of living on a small island, and most of our politicians here are millionaires, there doing well so allÂ’s well. Sorry, I mustnÂ’t do politics on a dull day Â…Â…
