the queens are back Down Under

Yes, the jujuQueen is back home in Australia, and of lesser note, Queen Elizabeth is here as well to open the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne tonight.

Inconceivable. Back in Australia. For almost four weeks now. What a whirlwind!

It’s been wonderful being home. Seeing friends and family again. Slowly adjusting. Enjoying. Savouring. The meat pies. The chiko rolls. The beachside cafes. O’Malleys Pub. Sunshine Plaza. The shopping. The beaches. So much to do! Oh yes, I’m glad to be home!

I bought a car, and I love it. Except, the other day the cover in the centre of the steering wheel fell off into my lap! (I have since learnt that it’s called a ‘horn pad’. I told the Toyota Dealer that sounded more like a place where a bachelor lives.) Nothing dangerous, it’s just the part that covers where you press the horn. I was embarrassed firstly with the RACQ man as he said something about ‘hooters’. Turns out he’s South African and that’s what they call horns. Right.  Then at the Toyota Dealer I was holding the (what I now know is called a horn pad) and the man asked me what it was off. I looked at him, thinking, "Come on, you’re the man here!" and said to him (not sarcastically) "Umm.. the steering wheel."  He tried not to laugh and said gently to me, "I meant what car?"   Great.

Yesterday I got two sunspots burnt off. I was so nervous. Mainly because it was a cute Italian doctor and I had to strip down to my bra and knickers, and lay first on my back then on my front. And me with my black knickers that boldly proclaim "attention seeker" across the butt. Oh well.. I asked for jellybeans and he ducked out to the reception area while I dressed and when I got out there to sign the forms, there was a big jar of jellybeans all for me.

Two schools in Korea still owe me a total of $5,000 and I’ve enlisted the help of the Korean Consulate in Sydney in getting that money. Doesn’t look promising, but I’m willing to beg at this stage.

Or if that fails, seeing as I’m royalty and all.. they can kiss my ring.

Damn. It’s good to be home!
