sincere apologies to Dexy

I just googled the lyrics to the Dexy’s Midnight Runners song “Come On Eileen “.

I then had a rock’n’roll epiphany.

I can’t stop laughing. Turns out the only things, seriously, that I was actually singing
correctly (for the past few decades!!) was “come on Eileen”, “we are
far too young and clever” and “Toora Loora Toora Loo-Rye-Aye”!

Thank you Google.

I no longer need to alternate between singing and mumbling crazy things
like, “our mother sway, sent along hoodlums, you who sue radio, now I
must sent home and ever”  then belt out with too much
confidence, “Toora Loora Toora Loo-Rye-Aye!!!!  Come on Eileen!!!”

Sorry Dexy, and your Midnight Runners. I will no longer make a total
mash of this song which I have loved and sung incorrectly for many many
years.

Now I just need to google who the hell “poor old Johnny  Ray” is.

And make fun of everyone else singing the wrong words.
