Day Four

I’ve got an ex-wife. She thinks I changed my name to Mother Fucker. -Eat, Pray, Love

I go up and down and left and right today.  I don’t know if I’m coming or going.  I think have a cold, and then next I feel fine and am running around.  I’m in my office to work, but I manage to piss away the time doing nothing.  My girlfriend manages to interrupt me right when I start to write her, and it royally gets on my nerves.  I check my email to find pictures of old friends and more interesting projects to do.  I don’t have enough time or resources, yet I am bored.  I check on the importing CD, and find iTunes is frozen.  How annoying.

What am I to do with myself?

We found a stray cat on Saturday.  I was outside saying good-bye to my parents, my mom was mad at me for being outside in my socks, and I saw this little brown ball of fuzz walking downt he street.  I called out to him and walked towards him, and he came right up to me.  I picked him up and took him inside, and he’s been in Nette’s office ever since.

She’s fallen in love with him, which she can do in 15 seconds or less with just about any animal.  She has such a big heart.  I know she wants to keep him, but we have three dogs and two cats already so as much as I love him and think he’s a great cat, I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around us having SIX pets.

Turns out this little guy has been around the neighborhood for a few weeks.  The neighbors have been feeding him, and took a picture and sent it out to the HOA listserv, but no one knows where he came from.  Nette took him to the vet to see if he has a chip (which he doesn’t) and have him checked out.  He looks a lot like a Maine Coon, but I think he’s a brown tabby long-hair…more Siberian than Maine Coon.

We sent out emails to about 35 people, and we’ve had a few interested parties that so far have fallen through.  I don’t want to take him to the pound.  He’s very loving and very adoptable, but still.  Nette doesn’t want to take her chances with him.

I have a feeling I just typed out the story of the first few days of our new cat, Murphy!  (Named by the neighbors for our housing development).

I spend the afternoon surfing the net and wrestling with my printer even though I should be writing copy for my aunt’s new website.

I just looked at my new calendar, and the saying for January is "It’s wonderful to wake up in the morning knowing you’re doin all that you can do."  Hmmm…maybe I’ll try that tomorrow.

Reminder:  write about your dumb ass at the new year’s party…
