“PoP”

Today I was out riding the trike having a good old time enjoying the morning when I started to hear a scraping noise coming from the left side of the trike. Could not quite make out what was causing it, after all had been out two hours and 14 miles at that point, so what was making a scraping noise?

Stopped, got off the tirke, checked all the moving parts, chains, wheels and so on, everything looked just fine. Got back on the trike and all was well or at least all was well for a block, the noise was back so I shifted my weight and the noise softened.

Since changing the weight distribution seemed to help stop the noise I shifted my weight from the left side to the center and then to the right side of the trike, not my best decision. The noise stopped but the right tire blew out with a large "PoP".

Guessing the tires I have on my trike are not sufficient for my weight since I checked the tires prior to starting my trike ride this AM and the PSI was on the mark on all the tires.

The last mile of my 15 mile trike ride was spend not peddling but walking with the trike on my left and me guiding it along with me for fun in the sun…smiles and frowns.

Will take the trike in to cycle repair in the morning to see what they can find out and tell me and get my trike repaired and or the tire or tires fixed or replaced.

How irritating that the tyre went on the last mmile – last yard would have been better. Hope the trike is sorted soon. Very best wishes, A

Well you have put a lot of miles on that trike. It is probably time for new tires.
