Me, naked.
I’ve embarrassed myself. I’m very embarrassed. I’m a fool. I should have waited, I should have not been upset went I sent the email, God, I’ve screwed it up (even worse). I’m ashamed. What if she doesn’t reply?
I shouldn’t have sent that email.
“Let me begin this by just saying that I enjoy being your friend; I really like you, as a person. But I also find what happened last night to be very inconsiderate of you. I understand that you have to help your mother through this, and love her, and that’s a very warranted cause for not hanging out. But to not call, or text, until two hours after we were supposed to hang out is rude and uncaring; and to be honest, it hurt my feelings. (And then, with the original text message, to not even acknowledge that you’d done anything, or apologize.)
I understand that you’re going through some really hard stuff at home, and I hope I’m not making anything worse with this letter, but if you want to be friends, I need to feel that you respect me, and my time. If you can’t hang out, just say no, it’s okay. I’ll understand.
So anyway, that’s all. I’m over it, but I did need to tell you how I felt.
I’m still up for lunch tomorrow (everything is forgiven), so just let me know if you can still go.
I hope you’re well,“
Well I sent it. What will be will be. (Please, God, I pray for Your grace.)
I think that’s okay. If I did that to a guy, and then got that email, I would understand and apologize.

if she is as wonderful as you think she is, she’ll understand where you’re coming from a friend of mine did the same thing to me, and he simply apologized when i brought it up although, i never really heard an excuse, so its possible that he was just avoiding me. hahaha :]

If he put it upon your heart to send the email then He will give you grace 🙂

What my business writing teacher always tried to impress upon us was the importance of Drafting an e-mail the same way we would draft a regular letter. Write it, but don’t send it until you’ve had time to cool off, re-read it, and think about the various consequences. My fiance recently sent an email to one of his employees about his lack of responsibility and the guy responded in anger and it’s very likely the higher-ups will be bidding him a not-so-fond farewell. Still, que sera, sera… And your letter really isn’t that angry in tone. You seem quite reasonable to me. Good luck!

you’re justified. if she gets angry because of a very kindly written email like that, maybe you should start reconsidering your options.

It’s easy to have second thoughts when you write something while emotional. But what you wrote was still very reasonable, very understanding of her situation even as you explained yours. I don’t think she’ll have anything to be angry about.
