I wrote this in my Spanish class for the preterit (past) tense today. It is made up, but it is true.

El año pasado aprendí a vivir. La semana pasada comí con mi amiga. Nosotros escuchamos la música y bailamos. Nosotros deseamos amor y bebimos vino. Nosotros esperamos la puesta del sol. Ella creyó en miedo; yo creí en comprensión. Nosotros comimos comida mexicana. Yo corrí y ella corrió y nosotros corrimos y nosotros nunca paramos.

Last year I learned to live. Last week I ate with my friend. We listened to music and danced. We desired love and drank wine. We waited for the sunset. She believed in fear; I believed in understanding. We ate Mexican food. I ran and she ran and we ran and we never stopped.
