With the good comes…well you know
The last week or so has been a real mixed bag of news. Every time something good happens there is something to balance it out. The best example is on the same day we got our taxes back from the accountant, with news of a nice refund. On the same day we got the news that it’s pointless to fix our roof and need to replace it. Goodbye nice refund, it’s all spent.
Then with work this week it’s been madding, every sale that has any commission with it seems to be offset by a return which took every dollar right back out of my pocket. Some of those sales were nice ones too that had taken real work and the returns while understandable still are frustrating.
Plus with work we seem to be stuck in the most madding cycle with sales. We have a great month or two, just gangbusters and then suddenly the bottom drops out and we can’t seem to be able to give a bed away. It doesn’t seem to have been that way for the other stores either which just makes it worse. It’s not that we are doing anything different, traffic just dies and no one seems to be looking and those that are looking just want the cheapest pieces of junk.
Then there are the people wearing rolex’s and carrying coach bags yet insist on the lowest cost bed while professing to love a much more expensive bed. Hey I can understand wanting to save money but what I’m afraid of in those cases is that a year or two from know they are saying "we should have gotten that other bed" and blame me. The same me who showed them the better bed first and only showed the other since it had some of the same features..
Well got to go, have a great day.
I’m sorry to hear that. Retail can be really frustrating sometimes – especially for you since you work commission!

ryn: Thanks! I asked because we recently purchased a new bed. I loved our old (literally) bed, but it was causing back issues for my husband. We paid $1,000 for a king. It was supposedly “on sale”. Now hubby sleeps like a baby and I struggle..LOL. I’m sure I just need to get used to the new one. The old one literally swallowed you up. This ones a tad more firm.
