When 12 isn’t a dozen

The answer to the title is during NoJoMo and of course I’ve already missed an entry so day 12 isn’t a dozen entries. Now on to some truly randomness.

Got to love having a 6 year old just for the great conversations you get to have. The other day after picking Ella up at school I asked "what did you do at school today?" Her reply was "I learned." So of course I had to ask "what did you learn?" Ella’s reply, "I don’t remember" At this point I’m ready to bang on the car window since no wall was handy.

The other news with Ella is she’s got a couple of teeth that are about ready to come out and she is wiggling the one like crazy. She is upset that it hasn’t come out yet and would almost love Cindi or I to just take it out.

I got my haircut this morning and the best part of it is the hot towel wrap/massage they give at the end. Why anyone says no when asked if they want the hot towel is beyond me. I would love to able have that every day.

Just got my schedule for black Friday and I got screwed have to open meaning a start time of 3:45 am. Now I want to be nice to those of you actual are crazy enough to buy into the hype and rush out to do shopping at ungodly hours in the belief you are getting great deals. But the truth is for the most part you could wait a week or two for another sale and get the same deal or a better one. The stores know that people buy the hype and offer one or two great deals with limited availability, i.e. 10 or less per store, to get you in and buy the more regularly sale priced stuff.  If I was in charge of my works 800+ stores I wouldn’t open till 7 or 8 and advertise the heck out of it with the phrase "get your sleep and get the deal."

Well time to get ready for work have a great day!

I hear that all the time from the kids on my bus. Its funny. I learned a long time ago that Black Friday deals were no deals. I was able to get the same damn deal on things without having to wait so now I dont even bother.

Ella’s too cute. Gianna says almost the same thing when I ask her what she learned in school… She says “I don’t remember, it was a long day!” I’m one of those crazy shoppers, but I did see something on the news this morning about how most stores are actually having better sales now then the ones on BF. For me, it’s more about tradition. My Mom and I have been doing the same exact thing

for the past 15 years. It gets us in the holiday mood, LOL I’ve often thought about the poor workers who need to be there in the middle of the night 🙁 When I worked at a retail store when I was in HS, then they didn’t open till 7am, now these stores are opening earlier and earlier, which I think is a bit crazy!!

LOL – some of my kids say that to me, just after I’ve finished teaching a class!! Argh! Far out on the early start! That’s bonkers 🙁

Sorry….Black Friday, is that like the boxing day sales? Excuse my ignorance, I’ve never heard of Black Friday sales, but I have heard of the shops opening until midnight here in the lead up to Christmas.
