Transitions
Ella started kindergarten the other day and so far she’s enjoying it. It was made easier since it’s at the same place where her pre-school was and she knew a lot of the kids in her class and had met the teachers before. Now in part she’s at that school because the school district we live in suck for kindergarten, it’s only half day, with no choice on morning or afternoon, and no busing for the kindergarten kids. So with work schedules and such it just was unworkable for us.
On other news the 2 new cats are settling in nicely and they are getting along great which makes everything easier. I never did write about how it came about to end up adopting 2 cats. It had been over a year since our Miss Allie passed away and Ella’s been asking for a cat so we had discussed it and figured it was time. That coupled with it being our vacation and thus we were home a little more made the transition easier. So one afternoon we headed off to the SPCA. Ella loved this one 3 month old kitten almost from the first moment and we did end up adopting him and she named him Peppermint. I know not the best name for a little boy but that’s what she wanted. Well Cindi liked a couple of different cats, including the kitten but thought a little older cat would be good for the kitten and they could keep each other company. So quickly, okay actually over the course of an hour or so, the adoption of one cat became the adoption of 2. The second cat is Pearl, a female of about 2 years old.
Since coming home we did find out that both had fleas, which have been taken care of and the house has been cleaned like crazy from basement to attic. Also both had little colds for which we’ve been having to give medicine to for the last 2 weeks. That’s the hardest thing, especially with Pearl as she doesn’t like being held down and having the oral med given.
Well that’s all for now, have a great day and smile.
Aw yay for kitties. We have two cats as well, and I think two definitely may be better than one, as they keep each other company when we’re gone all day. Poor kitties! I can’t believe they gave them to you with fleas. Sounds crazy to me. Glad it’s all taken care of though. Ahhh I remember kindergarten… good times.
